Quotable Quotes

" broken... RIGGED" Trump #1,221
Mr. President-elect:
This is a useful example of when being half-right is all wrong. You present the subjective as objective. It isn't.
PARTICULARLY in your / this case.

" against a political opponent, ME!" ~ Trump
The purpose of DOJ is to get after dangerous criminals like you Donald. You can declare that "broken" if you wish.
While you're at it, why not also declare water dry?

"I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA!" ~ Trump #1,223
MAGAs & environmentalists alike are looking forward to the reign rain of the Trump administration. Don't believe me? Ask Flo. [I think she said her last name was Rinse.] *
And Donald: if you want to balance the budget why not put a tariff on rain and snow. God doesn't go bankrupt you know.

note:
In the second Trump administration there is a confluence of inadequacies converging to form executive dysfunction surpassing even Trump's previous presidency.
- Even if seemingly physically fit for his age, Trump is an old man, older than President Clinton.
- Trump is excessively ignorant about government process. He benefited from competence from his chief of staff, but seems even more determined to surround himself with "yes men" in his 2nd term.

The result is likely to be what we see in the above quotation. Trump has little if any executive authority to make such "demand" of the California governor.
Trump doesn't embarrass easily.
But he's likely to find benefit in minimizing having his ignorance exposed like this.

* Apologies to Florence, Italy, and those named Florence.

"Those who won our independence believed that the final end of the state was to make men free to develop their faculties. They valued liberty both as an end and as a means. They believed liberty to be the secret of happiness and courage to be the secret of liberty." Justice Louis Brandeis

Thanks Lou.

"The fires are still raging in L.A. The incompetent pols have no idea how to put them out...What's wrong with them?" ~ -- Trump

"No one wants to take any blame for anything in California. Instead, they are blaming climate change." ~ Lara Trump

Fine.
Bell-curve the intelligence of a population of hundreds of million, and we'd expect some bona fide knuckleheads.
Statistically it's the price we pay for the Newton's, Franklin's, & Edison's.

The catastrophe may trace to a failure of the national public education system, the Department of Education.

Evidently a substantial segment of the U.S. electorate either isn't smart enough to recognize Trump's ham-handed guile,
or recognizes it but isn't smart enough to defend against it.

Either way, they fell for it
again.
“In a democracy, the people get the government they deserve” French diplomat and historian Alexis de Tocqueville

"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." attributed to Aristotle

“In a democracy, the people get the government they deserve” French diplomat and historian Alexis de Tocqueville

As democracy is perfected, the office of the president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. ~ H.L. Mencken

Sadly we're eye witnesses ....

I'd say this sounds like something Donnie would do but he'd be afraid that somebody might take him up on it ....

"If you want to take it outside, we can do that..." ~ Rep. Nancy Mace to Rep. Jasmine Crockett during House hearing

"Sadly we're eye witnesses ...." S2 #1,228
Those that voted against Trump are victims of those that voted for Trump.

“It is lamentable, that to be a good patriot one must become the enemy of the rest of mankind.” Voltaire

“Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.” Adlai E. Stevenson

If anyone has any doubts that he's completely lost it ....

"[Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone] will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK -- BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!" ~
Trump

"If anyone has any doubts that he's completely lost it ...."
Yes.
BUT !
That's not the only possible explanation.

"Crazy like a fox" may also explain it.
This latter explanation may not be any more reassuring than the former.

Need a tie-breaker?
Inauguration's day after tomorrow. He wanted to be POTUS. He was POTUS. He wants to be POTUS again. Guess what.
Would the U.S. electorate select a madman over a Black woman for president?

"Obviously they did." S2 #1,233
Do we know why?

Were they simply deceived? Let's vote for that guy! He's gunna deport all the aliens! No he's not.

The test that answers this question:
four years from now, will those that voted for Trump say: thank goodness we voted for him! We got exactly what we expected from him. - OR -
Why the Hell did we vote for that guy AGAIN ?! It's the third time we voted for him, and perhaps we never should have ...

What those whose IQ soars way up into the double-digits should understand: Trump is a compulsive liar.
Either Trump voters haven't figured that out yet, or
they know, and don't care.

They won't accept that Trump had anything to do with things going to sh1t. They'll blame Biden. Or Obama. Or the Democrats in general.

"I am not familiar with that statement." ~ AG pick Pam Bondi, asked at hearing if she agrees with Trump that convicted J6 rioters are "hostages" and "patriots"

"You're trying to engage me in a gotcha." ~ Bondi, asked if Trump lost the 2020 election

An incompetent senator / interrogator could easily bungle this.
A competent senator / interrogator could easily sidestep Bondi's evasion and state:
- On my authority I am telling you Trump said that. If I am factually wrong, or technically correct but deliberately misrepresenting, FOX News among others can be relied upon to correct / clarify.
- Do YOU think the J6 rioters are "hostages" and "patriots"?

"You're trying to engage me in a gotcha." ~ Bondi, asked if Trump lost the 2020 election
A competent senator / interrogator:
- Your non-responsive deflection is consistent with Trump's numerous assertions regarding his election loss. We can allow your record to stand. Or you can be more explicit. Either will demonstrate with adequate clarity your position on this matter.

Bottom line: Republicans are treacherous, violent, deceptive, unworthy. Democrats are incompetent, guileless, unworthy. The United States of America, & along with it humanity, are in great peril. This lame-brain is a lame duck, politically, a license to act with impunity for the duration of his office. In Trump's case, perhaps longer.

"What the president said and VP-elect JD Vance said is that peaceful protesters should be pardoned, but violent criminals should not." ~ Speaker Mike Johnson, Sunday

"We're looking at the future, not the past." ~ Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Monday, after Trump issued sweeping J6 pardons and commutations

"I think the gift is that it's all behind us now and we can stop talking about it." ~ Sen. Kevin Kramer

"Now I am gonna buy some motha f*ckin guns!!!" ~ QAnon Shaman, after being pardoned
