"Subtlety is an over-sold virtue." psychologist Joy Browne

Elon,
Sometimes you act like a knucklehead. In that context, this quotation makes you shine. It's not merely guidance for social media posting. It's inspiration for right living. Let U.S. hope you Trump this well.

‘Unsettling’: Columnist sounds alarm as Elon Musk demands Democrat be booted from Congress

Story by Adam Nichols

Elon Musk has demanded a Democratic congresswoman be kicked out of Congress because she dared question his motives during last week’s spending bill votes — and it’s set off alarm bells for a columnist.

MSNBC’s Steve Benen flagged the billionaire’s latest outburst as highly concerning.

He said Musk’s demand came after Connecticut Rep. Rosa DeLauro questioned his motives for getting involved in the government funding fight.

Specifically, she suggested Musk effectively killed a version of the spending bill by sending a tweet threatening that supporters would be primaried because it aimed to regulate U.S. investments in China.

After Musk killed it, it was rewritten — and the new version left that section out.

DeLauro wrote a letter to congressional leaders, “questioning whether the change to the bill reflected some kind of behind-the-scenes corruption: Perhaps, the Connecticut Democrat alleged, the legislation was tweaked specifically to benefit Musk, who has .....

So the democratic process, the choices of the electorate are to be honored, but only when in Trump's favor? Circumvent the will of the People if Musk's motives are questioned?

We might have wondered about when character and principle are inversely proportional to net worth. With you in the Trump administration, we need wonder no longer. Happy New Year Elon

note:
Noting an area of potential concern is hardly an accusation of errant motivation.
"The true danger is when liberty is nibbled away, for expedients, and by parts ... the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke
Here's a hint for you Elon:
If you have nothing to hide you should welcome such scrutiny, for it would then expose your purity and constructive intent.

Musk is used to being the "big boss" so his word is law. In addition to being able to fire any of his employees for any reason (or no reason) he can ban anyone from Twitter for any reason whatsoever (that includes disagreeing with him) and he doesn't understand that just because Donnie is now his lapdog he's not going to be able to do the same thing to elected representatives.

Their cravings for celebrity and communication (Trump, Apprentice, Musk, X) though not identical are compatible.

Trump's associations are often short-lived. Trump's white house staff had notably high turn-over.

Melania may divorce Trump before Elon does.
Maybe not.

We understand Elon. You want return on your investment.
"College education is woke!" Rich MAGA
If the institution is accredited, it should be. Would you pay tuition if it wasn't?
"We hate college!" MAGA
No doubt.

We needn't waste time formulating an accusation when a full confession is spontaneously declared.

Thanks Al

The majority of Republicans believe that colleges and universities are bad for America.

Thus their tenacious disdain for the educated whom this Republican majority dismiss as "woke".

It's perfectly logical.
If their troglodytic agenda is exposed as folly by enlightened consideration,
then to press their agenda despite its deleterious consequences involves rejecting the valid reasoning that exposes it.

H.G. Wells warned us in his novel The Time Machine.
In our 2025 culture the nascent characteristics of the Eloi and the Morlocks are already recognizable.

I combed vast cyber-space from one end of my keyboard to the other. I couldn't find a hatchet in the forehead emoji.
I figured a puddle of blood emoji might substitute. emoji03.JPG

What d'ya think?
Me either.

Rock the weekend. (there may not be many more weekends remaining)

Fine. Gallows humor has reached Russia's front line.
Guess what.
The butcher that's marching Russian's into the meat-grinder:
As of November 1, 2024, Russian combat losses amount to 696,410 troops, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

700k +?
So says Ukraine.
If Russia's losses are one tenth of that it's more than the U.S. claims to have lost in Vietnam. And for what? Russian glory?

Russian soldier:
Putin is the bad guy here.
Contain this madman, what reason would there be to continue the carnage? Think nailing a dictator like that is impossible?
- Tell that to Libyans about Quadaffy.
- Tell that to Romanians about Ceausescu. Or for more up-to-date example,
- Tell that to Syrians about Assad.

Bear in mind Russian soldier, not only would that potentially save a hundred thousand lives or more, in your own lifetime.
It might impress a civilizing principle upon future Russian leaders, thereby sparing the needless loss of countless more.

There is no Russian glory in this carnage.

"In one day he ended every future opportunity that doesn't include speaking engagements at the local Proud Boys chapter. And all of us that didn't have jobs lined up will be perpetually unemployed. I'm so mad and upset. We all look like domestic terrorists now. Not being dramatic, but we are all f*cked." ~ Hope Hicks to Ivanka Trump's chief of staff following January 6

Just in case the name doesn't ring a bell:

You make an irrefutable observation sir.
- Astounding that you lost the vote, and won the office in 2016.
- Not plausible that you won the vote, and the office as a convicted felon in 2024.

"what a horrible place." ~ Trump #1,219
That Mr. president-elect is a concise summation of the locus of 2024 U.S. president electoral history. Thank you for this rare example of valid Trump candor.
