"Republican strategists realising they've deliberately made this election about the cognitive decline of elderly men" #1,281
... because Trump is now reportedly (now that Joe's out of the race) the oldest candidate ever to seek the office. - snicker -

Still.
It ain't over.

I don't even qualify as a fence straddler on this one.
The notion of changing one's own name seems foreign to me. It isn't.
My own Pappy ended up with a different name than his birth name.
My own sister's name changed by marriage, and again by choice.

BUT !
JD!
P you !

"What the World Needs is...More Polymaths"

What the world needs is...
More polymaths—
A convergence of minds like Da Vinci, weaving art and science,
Stitching the fabric of existence with threads of varied hues,
Uniting the fragmented knowledge into a cohesive tapestry.

What the world needs is...
An embrace of interdisciplinary thought,
Where physics dances with poetry,
And mathematics sings in the language of the cosmos.
To break free from the silos of specialization,
And nurture minds that wander through the gardens of diverse fields.

What the world needs is...
The curiosity of a child in every adult,
An insatiable thirst for learning,
An unquenchable desire to connect the dots
From the quantum realms to the celestial spheres.
To see the beauty in equations and the logic in art,
To marvel at the symmetry of nature and the chaos of creativity.

What the world needs is...
A rejection of the notion that mastery demands singularity,
An affirmation that the Renaissance spirit is not antiquated,
But a beacon for modernity.
To champion the polymath as a model for innovation,
To cultivate minds that think both broadly and deeply,
Balancing the scales of depth and breadth.

What the world needs is...
Remedies for the ailments of narrow vision,
Educational systems that foster curiosity over conformity,
Institutions that reward holistic thinking,
And societies that celebrate the synthesis of ideas.
To create spaces where collaboration thrives,
And the cross-pollination of disciplines bears fruit.

What the world needs is...
Progressions from fragmentation to integration,
From compartmentalization to connection,
From silos to synergies.
A world where the polymathic mind is not a relic,
But a harbinger of a future
Where solutions are as diverse as the challenges we face.

What the world needs is...
The profound insight that every question answered
Begets a thousand more unasked,
That the pursuit of knowledge is an endless journey
With no final destination.
To understand that the polymath is not just a thinker,
But a seeker, a dreamer, a builder of bridges
Across the chasms of ignorance.

What the world needs is...
To recognize that the true genius lies
Not in knowing all the answers,
But in asking the right questions,
In seeing the interconnectedness of all things,
And in daring to explore the spaces between.

What the world needs is...
More polymaths—
For they are the torchbearers of wisdom,
Illuminating the path to a more integrated,
Innovative, and insightful world.
A world where knowledge is not hoarded,
But shared, expanded, and celebrated,
In a symphony of human potential.

"The world isn't getting any easier. With all these new inventions I believe that people are hurried more and pushed more. The hurried way is not the right way; you need time for everything—time to work, time to play, time to rest." -Hedy Lamarr

Hedy Lamarr

Austrian-born American actress (1914–2000)
Hedy Lamarr

Summary

Hedy Lamarr (born Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler; November 9, 1914 – January 19, 2000) / More from Wikipedia
At the beginning of World War II, along with George Antheil, Lamarr co-invented a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes that used spread spectrum and frequency hopping technology to defeat the threat of radio jamming by the Axis powers. However, the technology was not used in operational systems until after World War II, and then independently of their patent.

It's a very common mental lapse Ms Lamarr to use such conclusion as the premise for further assessment. Such error can often lead us astray.

It's more realistic to acknowledge that there is both upside, and downside.
Human life expectancy has doubled due to such innovations as labor diversification, indoor plumbing, long-term food storage, among many others.

This is not to dismiss Lamarr's perspective. But at risk of mirroring the wild-eyed optimist, it's not necessarily an error to perceive the glass half-full.

Perhaps we can sharpen Lamarr's point as follows:
Lamarr's lament may be stronger on nostalgia than presaging misfortune. Either way, progress progresses.

On Independence Day I was at a garden party. A friend was scrolling to find an item of interest for me. But the storage capacity of smartphones has reached desktop computer levels,
so there was some dead air to fill. To keep the crowd entertained I asked him if he had an camel porn on there. The crowd liked it,
a little.

He didn't. He didn't.

Maybe he had dolphin porn on his phone?
This dude is way too composed to make a scene. But perhaps tilting a little toward the dismissive he said: "No."

I considered saying: - You mean it's ALLLLLLL walrus porn? NO WONDER you're so popular !
Didn't. I figured, quit while you're behind.
"How are they related"?
- uh oh -

Anything to do with banging a sofa?

With Biden out of the race I think Trump and the GOP realize they made a mistake choosing Vance.
You're not alone. I must be supremely if sublimely ignorant to not know why. I couldn't hazard a guess.
Alternatively, anyone that doesn't know "Hang Mike Pence" renders considering being Trump's VP at mortal risk is both profoundly ignorant, and profoundly unfit for the office.
None the less, Trump needed a warm body, and dug one up. And VP's are not as easy to dump as wives.

Just imagine. Now you can have your very own ...
