There's nothing I'd think worth posting I didn't want friends to know.
But little if anything I'd want friends to know would I willingly to divulge to strangers. Pure insanity.

I enjoy posting @CV.us because I'm not the center of attention here. Concepts are. They're more interesting, and more important than I am.

Primary character actor Sean Hayes played the role of a homosexual man in the NBC sitcom Will & Grace.

Sean Hayes

Sean Hayes
Hayes' characterization may have been persuasive to some, who may have believe Hayes was a gay man hired to play the role.
- nope -
It seems Mr. Hayes is a happily married man, to a mostly happily married woman.

Hayes disclosed his simple formula for persuasively portraying a gay man. Act like a 12 year old girl.

Our world is awash with bad news. Even the ink to report it is black.
This elevates those that relieve the burdens of the day with light, thoughtful, creative entertainment not merely to performers, but to therapists.
It's not a cure. But the symptom relief is a valuable commodity.

NBA star Dwayne Wade, daughter Zaya Wade launch online resource for trans youth

eUYJRJp.jpeg

NBA Hall of Famer Dwayne Wade and his daughter Zaya Wade on Thursday announced the launch of a digital resource for transgender youth and their supporters.

The father-daughter duo introduced Translatable as a "resource hub for parents, families and support systems of the LBGTQIA+ youth" according to an introductory clip on Instagram."

For our family, we were blessed to have a community of supporters, and knowledgeable experts who could swiftly arm us with the tools we needed to support Zaya and her journey ...

I'm so very proud of the daughter I've had the opportunity to raise," Wade said in the clip. "

She has been my biggest educator and inspiration and what it means to be true to you."

The Elevate Prize Foundation on Thursday also honored Wade with the Elevate Prize Catalyst Award for his transgender advocacy work.

Wade accepted the award during the foundation's second annual Make Good Famous Summit.

The award recognizes "prominent individuals who use their influence to inspire social action," according to a release from the foundation.

Wade said he plans to invest the $250,000 prize money into Translatable, adding that the program's goal is to "support growth, mental health and well-being, and that this space ignites more conversations leading to greater understanding and acceptance."

Elevate Prize Foundation CEO Carolina García Jayaram praised Wade for launching Translatable in Florida, a state that has introduced a series of bills targeting transgender people."

Dwyane's tireless dedication to the trans community and racial justice has illuminated the path toward a more inclusive future," she said."

Moreover, we commend his decision to announce Translatable in Florida -- a place where many might feel a sense of exclusion."

Wade moved his family out of Florida for safety reasons."

We understand that in this state that not everyone thinks the way some others think," Wade said. "Like most things in life, once you get to know them, you have more ability to be understanding. And so if you don't want to know them, then you stay ignorant in a sense."

Zaya Wade, who turns 17 on May 29, came out as transgender in 2020 at age 12. Dwayne Wade at the time said he and his wife, Gabrielle Union, are "proud parents of a child in the LGBTQ+ community."

Judge Overturns Nassau County, N.Y., Ban On Transgender Female Athletes In Local Sports

Story by Nathaniel Marshall

ANew York judge struck down an executive order from Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman banning female transgender athletes from participating in county women’s sports. The ruling came after a legal challenge from the Long Island Roller Rebels, a local women’s roller derby league.

In his 13-page decision, Judge Francis Ricigliano ruled that Blakeman overstepped his authority with the February executive order, which denied park permits to any women’s and girls’ teams, leagues or organizations that allowed female transgender athletes. Ricigliano highlighted the lack of ....

The good news: yet another way to advance civil rights
The bad news: it remains necessary

Thanks to all the Zaya Wade's out there. Their simple message is taught in holy scripture: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Matthew 7:12 - often referred to as "The Golden Rule", a magnificent pattern to live each human life, including mine, including yours.

And on this Memorial Day, eternal gratitude to the many MLK's that died for this noble cause of humanity.

Schrödinger's cat

Thought experiment in quantum mechanics
Schrödinger's cat

Summary

In quantum mechanics, Schrödinger's cat is a thought experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, of quantum superposition. In the thought experiment, a hypothetical cat may be considered simultaneously both alive and dead, while it is unobserved in a closed box, as a result of its fate being linked to a random subatomic event that may or may not occur. This thought experiment was devised by physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935 in a discussion with Albert Einstein to illustrate what Schrödinger saw as the problems of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics.

In Schrödinger's original formulation, a cat, a flask of poison, and a radioactive source are placed in a sealed box. If an internal radiation monitor (e.g. a Geiger counter) detects radioactivity (i.e. a single atom decaying), the flask is shattered, releasing the poison, which kills the cat. The Copenhagen interpretation implies that, after a while, the cat is simultaneously alive and dead. Yet, when one looks in the box, one sees the cat either alive or dead, not both alive and dead. This poses the question of when exactly quantum superposition ends and reality resolves into one possibility or the other.

Although originally a critique on the Copenhagen interpretation, Schrödinger's seemingly paradoxical thought experiment became part of the foundation of quantum mechanics. The scenario is often featured in theoretical discussions of the interpretations of quantum mechanics, particularly in situations involving the measurement problem. As a result, Schrödinger's cat has had enduring appeal in popular culture. The experiment is not intended to be actually performed on a cat, but rather as an easily understandable illustration of the behavior of atoms. Experiments at the atomic scale have been carried out, showing that very small objects may exist as superpositions; but superposing an object as large as a cat would pose considerable technical difficulties.

Fundamentally, the Schrödinger's cat experiment asks how long quantum superpositions last and when (or whether) they collapse. Different interpretations of the mathematics of quantum mechanics have been proposed that give different explanations for this process, but Schrödinger's cat remains an unsolved problem in physics.

Dwyane Wade uses his NBA platform to embrace his trans daughter Zaya, launching a website for trans youth

Dwyane Wade has thoughtfully emerged as a champion of his trans daughter, Zaya Wade. He'll be a voice at the Paris Olympics this summer.
By Cyd Zeigler

Dwyane Wade has very thoughtfully and carefully emerged as a champion of the transgender community. That’s because his daughter, Zaya Wade, is trans herself.

His progression into the public spotlight, not just for himself as a trans dad but also for his daughter and family, wasn’t rushed. As someone who spent countless hours in and around basketball courts and NBA locker rooms, he knew that some people wouldn’t even understand what “transgender” is. He didn’t understand it.

Yet Wade has become a real champion of trans people and the LGBTQ community. The latest recognition of his championing of acceptance is reflected in his being named the Catalyst Award winner from the Elevate Prize, which seeks to “make good famous.”

Of course, Wade is already famous. He is one of the great NBA players of all time. He won three NBA titles with the Miami Heat and was a 13-time NBA All-Star. He’s No. 12 on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. He’ll also ....

Colin Kaepernick

American football player (born 1987)
Colin Kaepernick

Summary

Colin Rand Kaepernick (KAP-ər-nik; born November 3, 1987) is an American civil rights activist and former football quarterback. ...
Kaepernick sat during the playing of the U.S. national anthem prior to the game, rather than stand as is customary, as a protest against racial injustice, police brutality and oppression in the country. The following week, and throughout the regular season, Kaepernick kneeled during the anthem. The protests received highly polarized reactions, with some praising his protests and others denouncing the protests. The actions resulted in a wider protest movement, which intensified in September 2017 after President Donald Trump said that NFL owners should "fire" players who protest during the national anthem. Kaepernick became a free agent after the season and remained unsigned, which numerous analysts and observers have attributed to political reasons. In November 2017, he filed a grievance against the NFL and its owners, accusing them of collusion in keeping him out of the league. In August 2018, arbitrator Stephen B. Burbank rejected the NFL's request to dismiss the case. Kaepernick withdrew the grievance in February 2019 after reaching a confidential settlement with the NFL. His protests received renewed attention in 2020 amid the George Floyd protests against police brutality and racism, but he remains unsigned by any professional football team.

There's $huge $money in these pro-sport leagues.
It would be easier for these rare talents (Wade & Kaepernick) to shut up, and count their money.
They've both acknowledged the cause of civil rights is bigger than either of them, and sacrifice for the cause.

Is that not the definition of a hero?

And it's more than merely working for the noble cause. These champions of justice are role-models to millions of school-age children who learn from these examples.

Confederate general Robert E. Lee surrendered to Union general Ulysses S. Grant at the nearby hamlet of Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865, effectively ending the Civil War. *

"To be clear, a transman is someone who was born female and transitioned to male." S2 #355
Thanks S2. Still think we need a glossary, but that'll do for now.

I'm vastly too mature and P.C. to even think such thought, but somewhere out there there's a shift-worker who takes a look at this athlete and thinks:
she musta been one butt-ugly chick!
Nice delts though.

On a much more practical note, English isn't the worst. French distinguishes gender more flagrantly than in English, Le vs La.
But is English part of the problem? He vs she? If we switched to the neuter, singular "they" might it help to make gender less of an issue? If less so linguistically, also less so culturally?

You asked for a glossary - here's a partial one
This is actually from the link I posted re trans sports and it points out that terminology is not completely uniform as you move from place to place" #357
Well done S2. That gets our foot in the door: https://citizenvoice.us/forums/glossary-clarifications.8/
