The war in Iran (or whose war is it anyways?)

There seems to be some disagreement

What I have read is that not only has the US bribed Iranian protest provocateurs, but that the US also paid snipers to shoot at both sides of the protests.
Over 250 police were also killed.

I hope Russia is going to defend Iran.
Since the US not only has nukes, but used them in Japan and gave nuke to a belligerent like Israel, then the US is the last person who should complain about anyone else having nukes.
Its not just hypocrisy, but against all legal principles.
You either have to have equality, or the US is trying to create a world wide dictatorship.

That's one scenario.
It's not the only possible scenario.
It may not be the best scenario for the good People of Iran.
It may not be the best for humanity.

BUT !

Uncle Sam's hands are not clean here.
I don't know if this is the earliest, but among the U.S.' earliest examples of shameful foreign sovereignty excess was the disgraceful CIA-assisted overthrow of Iran's duly elected Mossadegh.
And here it is a new millennium. And the U.S. is still at it, ham-handedly choosing which Iranian leaders are allowed to survive.

Trump's repeated excuse about not allowing Iran to have a nuclear weapon is twaddle.
Obama already accomplished that.

IF Trump had something better, the correct protocol would be to implement Trump's superior replacement,
thereby superseding Obama's, Britain, France, Germany, China, Russia, & Iran's JCPOA.

Trump's priority was obviously to insult Obama first, and attend to global nuclear security second. "Mission Accomplished"

Another Republican president that prefers War to peace.

The incompetence of this Administration is staggering on so many levels.

A Gold Star husband just had to tell the Vice President of the United States about the warnings and failures surrounding the attack that killed his wife.

JD Vance’s response:

“This literally is the first time I’ve heard of this.”

Sit with that for a second.

Joey Amor’s wife, Master Sgt. Nicole Amor, was one of six American soldiers killed on March 1 when an Iranian drone struck their position at Port Shuaiba in Kuwait.

She had served more than 20 years.

She was supposed to come home two days later.

Last night, Joey finally got to ask the Vice President of the United States a question directly.

He told Vance that while the Iranian drone killed his wife, there had also been “a lot of mistakes and a lot of fundamental failures” leading up to that attack.

Then he asked how the administration was going to hold the people responsible accountable.

Vance said:

“This literally is the first time I’ve heard of this.”

He added that sometimes information doesn’t “filter up” to him.

But then, in the same answer, Vance acknowledged something remarkable:

“There were issues with where troops were located that we realized was a huge mistake.”

A huge mistake.

Now let me tell you what soldiers who were actually there have been saying for months.

The Associated Press interviewed 13 soldiers, many of them officers.

They said commanders had been warned that Port Shuaiba was vulnerable to drone attack.
Officers proposed moving the logistics operation to safer locations farther from Iran.
Those plans were rejected.
The port did not have adequate defenses against the kind of low-flying drones Iran was using.
Days before the move, intelligence officers again warned senior commanders about the danger.
The move went ahead anyway.
Then, the night before the deadly attack, soldiers reported drones hovering over the port.
The next morning, Capt. Cody Khork, the officer responsible for safety, was worried enough that he reportedly argued that troops should remain in their bunkers.
About 20 minutes after the final all-clear was given, an Iranian drone crashed through the roof of their operations center.
Six Americans died.
Dozens were wounded.

What seems foolish to me is attacking the political leader of Iran.
That violates the precedent of not trying to assassinate political leaders.
You would think Trump would have understood that makes him now a valid and likely target.
And there really is no defense.
Any shipping container near DC could suddenly open up and launch an explosive drone.
