Instead, reckless, casual, promiscuous gratuitous insult of Trump may be a crowd pleaser among domestic conservatives, and international allies.
The reality is Trump may be a publicity genius. Idiot savant? Trump has learned, has demonstrated he can exchange his own credibility for success, Trump can / has lied his way to the top
again.
Faustian bargain it may be, but one Trump has clearly already made.
The risk of simple name-calling here, it displaces more constructive, more insightful dialogue at time of acute crisis.
It's a textbook blunder to underestimate ones adversary.
We don't have to like Trump.
But denying Trump's skill, or even distracting from it with dismissive insult can impair the rational segment of Earth's human population in mitigating the MAGA marauders.
So what are Trump's true intentions?
