Commenting on Donald Trump's going years without paying federal income tax former federal prosecutor former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani said of Trump:

"The man's a genius."

Late night TV comedy host Stephen Colbert replied:

"Yes. Only a genius could lose a $Billion $dollars running a casino."

So the French need a little fire-safety refresher? - or -

They're grumpy about something. Right? Like what?

The French gov't is going to increase the retirement age.
'bout time.
If the U.S. congress does, it may help add decades of solvency to U.S.' bloated social spending.

iirc when age 65 was established as U.S. retirement age the average life expectancy was lower than 65. Thus the tradition was to work us to death (no insult intended to America's slaves, many of whom were indeed worked to death).
So they pegged retirement at age 65. Since then America's life expectancy has added a decade or two.

It's not purely a matter of retirement age. Anyone can do as they please. But Social Security eligibility should be raised to sustainability, so revenues are not exhausted. I understand. Social Security was not intended as that. Instead of being paid by the retirees themselves, paid by current workers. The problem is the ratio of benefits recipients is mushrooming in comparison to current contributing workers. Ponzi.

That was a fundamental, gargantuan blunder with Social Security's basic design. It's not too late to fix it. And it can be fixed for perpetuity. "When your outgo exceeds your income, the upshot will be your downfall." Paul Harvey

The report I caught on this is, the pending charge against Trump is a misdemeanor violation.
If prosecuted, the novel interpretation of the laws required to prosecute this involve a hybrid mix of State and federal law. Legal experts seem to believe that will be grounds for dismissal.

Combine that with former prosecutor Governor Christy's discouraging comment suggest this approach to bringing Trump to justice is ill-conceived.

Trump supporters vow to surround Mar a Lago resort to prevent former president from being arrested

Donald Trump supporters have vowed to surround Mar-A-Lago and protect him from being arrested.

Reportedly Trump's ability to pack a venue with attendees has slacked off.
There may be a scene. But I expect a fizzle, premised on: - Don't start no spit, won't be no spit -

In scientific terms if political potency were dynamite Trump wouldn't have enough left to blow a joke.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy says Americans should not protest if Donald Trump is indicted

That's a surprise. It's about the boldest move I've seen from Speaker McCarthy so far. It seems the jello in McCarthy's spine may be setting up a little.

Not quite sure I'm following here.
Perhaps the "Proud Boys" presented to express their disapproval of the unmanliness of drag-queens.

In that case losing a scuffle to the drag queens is hardly anything for the "Proud Boys" to be proud of. But after their support for / involvement with the Jan. 6 insurrection, "Proud Boys" is a conspicuous misnomer.

!
Doesn't Trump want us to believe he's "really rich"?
Why would retirees on Social Security send financial donations to an ostensibly wealthy man? Doesn't Trump already have $more than they do?

It has already surpassed the absurd. There were charitable donations to help pay for Trump's Mexico border wall, funds skimmed by crooked Trump cronies. To pay to build a wall Trump promised Mexico would pay for.
But this most impeached U.S. president in history wants more money. - hmmm -
