Word is that there will be a group of parents at next week’s school board meeting who want to ban a bunch of books. I’m gearing up for a show down including preparing remarks to read. I’m not a vocal protester generally, but this is something that needs standing up for. EDIT: Some links to support efforts to combat book banning
It may seem unconventional S2, but you're welcome to include a link.
If I may interject one note of alarm:
if the U.S. electorate were more sensible, after the Republican Supreme Court palace coup overturned Roe, Republicans would have been crushed in the voting booth. As females are reportedly a majority I find it inexplicable this did not happen. BUT !!
It didn't.
So if a majority of the voting population isn't willing to defend a right as fundamental as healthcare, I'm not optimistic about the odds of smacking down the book-banners. Literature Liberty is a noble, worthy cause. But I suspect the prospect of success on the windmill scale rates about one Don Quixote.
I puzzle over this one S2.
Seems to me this is a deliberately staged drama, albeit brief.
It is a stereotype that recipients of charity are Blacks. In this brief dramatization it is the Black man that is the charitable donor. Even if the casting director was deliberate about going against type, is it not racist? One White woman, one Black man?
This combination is particularly emotionally volatile among racists in the U.S.
It is for example the inspiration for the following police joke. Senior patrol partner to his OJT rookie: when patrolling you see a Black man and a White woman, you stop and ask her: Is that boy bothering you M'am?
If she says yes, shoot him. If she says no, shoot them both.
I understand the ostensible message is that of our chronically under-paid school teachers. I enthusiastically endorse the implied support for this noble profession. I'm not fully clear on the symbolism of this particular message.

And now, just a baseball cap? Which both are now wearing? The date on this is cartoon is 2018. It's been over half a decade.
That little vid has nothing to do with race. It's simply a commentary on how poorly paid teachers are and how much of their own money they spend on classroom supplies.
As for the "baseball cap" - that's a commentary on Trump supporters.

‘The Simpsons’ Predicted Our Stupidity Again As Florida Decides That Michelangelo’s David is Pornography
Someone set the “Days without a stupid Simpsons joke becoming a stupid reality” counter back to zero.
In the midst of the great state of Florida’s ever-accelerating war on adequate education, the principal of a Tallahassee charter school was forced to resign after outraged parents protested their children’s exposure to pornography in an art class. The sinful smut that’s turning Tallahassee tweens into sex-crazed masturbation monsters would certainly fall under the “vintage” category of most online porn purveyors – the controversy is over an image of Michelangelo’s masterpiece sculpture David and his bare, marble manhood.
If the branding of an iconic masterwork of Renaissance art as jerkoff material for twelve-year-olds sounds like a dumb joke, that’s because ...
