DEAR FRIENDS- Despite the bigoted claims by Donald Trump, his Christian Nationalist backers and millions of brainwashed MAGA voters who shrilly proclaim that being transgender is a “mental illness”…
100 years of scientific research has convinced the ENTIRE psychiatric and medical community of Planet Earth otherwise.
In fact, every major psychological, medical and health organization on Planet Earth supports transgender people like me! [1]
And furthermore, they support gender affirming health care for trans folks, including puberty blockers for thoroughly vetted and certified trans teens. [2]
In reality, it’s only the haters of the world who can’t accept the fact that there’s nothing “wrong with us” and embrace the kind and civilizing attitude of “live and let live”.
Nature loves variety and we only view and judge some of that variety as a defect.
Is red hair a “biological quirk”?
Is being gay or left handed?
These latter used to be seen as “mental illnesses”, and of course we now know that’s hateful nonsense! [3]
Modern science and medicine see being transgender as just another example of life’s diversity.
And many ancient societies actually saw being trans as a holy thing, a blessing to the ....

DEAR FRIENDS – As I was blocking my 200th creepazoid trans hater on my current post today, it occurred to me that fending off these phobic hordes is exactly like dealing with a zombie invasion.
There were times when literally four or five hateful comments a minute were landing!
I was picturing a swarm of brain dead trolls, clawing at the glass and moaning for internet points LOL!
And after seeing the 150th nasty meme and its related Fox News talking points…
Borrrrring…
It really got me to thinking.
These transphobes have an absolute refusal to give up the position of being righteous bullies.
They just can't, in a spark of bold thought, entertain the fact that trans people are human beings just like them.
They ACTIVELY DON'T WANT to see that the science around transgender identity is now extremely well-established and conclusive.
We’ve always been here, we're just born that way, and we're completely harmless.
According to science, being trans is just like being left-handed, or a redhead, or anybody with a rare trait. There's simply no ....

The research pooled 463 twin pairs in which at least one twin was trans, the most comprehensive analysis on this question to date. Among identical twins, who share 100% of their genes, both twins were trans in 21.2% of pairs. Among non-identical twins, who share about half their genes, it was 8.7%. In the general population the rate sits at roughly 1%.
The team at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute in Melbourne recruited 27 twin pairs through two Australian gender clinics, confirmed who was identical with DNA testing where they could, then combined their results with three earlier twin studies.
That step-wise pattern, where the chance both twins are trans rises with genetic similarity, is not what a social trend picked up from friends or the internet looks like.
Most identical pairs in the data were not both trans, which is also true of height, personality and sexuality. Almost every human trait is shaped by genes and environment together.
The 2024 Cass Review in the UK, used by governments to justify restricting gender care for young people, leaned on a single Swedish study to argue that environmental influences during pregnancy were a more likely explanation than genetics.
That Swedish study never tested whether its twins were identical. The new analysis, with 335 same-sex pairs against Sweden's 40, found NO support for the prenatal hormone theory at all.
The belief that being trans is purely social is the rationale behind conversion therapy, a practice condemned by EVERY major Australian and US medical association.

The drop from 21% to 8% between identical twins to non-identical twins does imply some DNA linkage.

And the fact that it's that high when the incidence in the general population is about 1% says the same thing. But it's not strictly genetic - hormones in the womb play a big part.
BTW, if you're not familiar with Nicole Maines her story is interesting - she was born as one of identical twin boys but it didn't take.

It's a very interesting read.
Identical twins can have different gender identities because they experience unique prenatal environments in the womb despite sharing the same DNA.
Separate amniotic sacs mean different prenatal environments.

Imagine being told that the person you are needs to be changed before you can be accepted.
That is the premise behind conversion therapy, and it is why LGBTQIA+ advocates have fought for years to restrict the practice.
There is no credible scientific basis for trying to “convert” someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity. Major professional health organizations have opposed conversion practices, while research has documented associations with serious psychological harm.
The issue becomes especially urgent when young people are involved.
A teenager who is already questioning their identity does not need to be taught that being LGBTQIA+ is something shameful or defective.
They need safety.
They need support.
They need adults who will listen without trying to rewrite who they are.
The approved proposal is therefore more than a symbolic political victory. It represents an effort to protect LGBTQIA+ people from practices that can reinforce shame and psychological distress rather than provide legitimate healthcare.
People can hold different religious, cultural, or personal beliefs about sexuality and gender.
But disagreement does not justify subjecting someone to practices presented as a way to “fix” them.
The goal should never be to force an LGBTQIA+ person into becoming someone else.
The goal should be making sure they can live without being told they are broken.

Donald Trump wants Republicans to treat the 2026 midterms like he is personally running again.
His reason?
He believes his name is what brings Republican voters to the polls.
Speaking with former South Carolina congressman Trey Gowdy, Trump said he plans to campaign for Republican candidates and urged supporters to “pretend I’m on the ballot.”
The president argued that Republicans win when he appears on the ballot and lose support when he does not, despite the historical tendency for presidents’ parties to lose congressional seats during midterm elections.
Then Trump listed the issues he believes will motivate voters.
Taxes.
Government policy.
And transgender issues.
He complained that without Republican victories, “the men in women’s sports will never end,” followed by the declaration: “Transgender will never end.”
The comments show how central transgender issues remain to Trump’s political messaging.
For supporters, restrictions on transgender participation in women’s sports and other gender-related policies represent a campaign promise they want Republicans to continue pursuing.
For LGBTQ+ advocates, repeatedly placing transgender people at the center of political attacks has contributed to an increasingly hostile national climate.
But the bigger political calculation is about turnout.
Trump is not asking voters to choose him.
He is asking them to imagine that they are.
That means the 2026 midterms could become another test of how much influence Trump personally has over Republican voters, even without his name appearing on the ballot.
The question is whether that strategy works.
Because in November, Trump will not be the candidate.
He is trying to make himself the issue.
