ABC Fires Back at Trump's FCC, Accuses Agency of "Attempted Censorship"
ABC refused to blink.

In a blistering 119-page filing to the Federal Communications Commission, the network accused Trump's FCC of "attempted censorship" and open "retaliation," and made clear it will not be bullied into softening its coverage to please the White House.

The fight traces back to April, when the FCC abruptly moved to review the licenses of eight ABC-owned television stations. The agency claimed the review was about diversity and inclusion hiring policies, but it came right after Jimmy Kimmel made a joke about Trump that Trump didn't like. The federal government had never before demanded such a sweeping review of a major network's licenses.

ABC named FCC Chair Brendan Carr directly and warned that this was never just about one network. "The retaliation against ABC is a signal to every media company in the country: accommodate the Administration's view of what news coverage should look like or pay the price," the filing said.

Carr has spent Trump's second term taking a sledgehammer to the free press and bragging about it, rattling off a list of defunded outlets and ousted journalists at a conservative conference in March. Yet he still insists he doesn't see the FCC as "the speech police."

But ABC isn't standing alone. The network's filing pointed to a massive outpouring of support from viewers, current and former FCC officials, advocacy groups, and political leaders on both sides of the aisle, including warnings from conservative Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and Senator Ted Cruz. The

FCC's own website has been flooded with public comments defending the First Amendment and local television.

While Carr counts the newsrooms he's helped hollow out, ABC just drew a line in the sand and dared the rest of the industry to stand behind it.

This post #3,733 is not an attempt to correct an error of fact.
Instead it's a broader warning about the massively destructive influence of President Trump in his second term.

U.S. allies including those in the Middle East formerly reliant on U.S. military protection have learned:
a) U.S. security agreements may not be as reliable as they were considered to be during non-Trump administrations.
b) Because it's a dangerous world, the result of this may be substantial nuclear proliferation.
c) Trump's chainsaw wielding henchmen have butchered U.S. federal government, in some cases undermining viability.
Putting Hegseth in charge of the Department of War, reckless, foolish.
Putting RFKj at HHS, has been a boon to the screw worm, measles, & cyclospora.

Trump has severely undermined the global economy, killed thousands of innocent Iranians, and simultaneously
empowered Iran beyond what nuclear weapons would have provided it.

Trump is a nightmare, a catastrophe.
And #3,732 has us snickering over a botched $14 $M reflecting pool renovation.
