Federal judge bars Trump administration from using obscure clause to make huge funding cuts​

BOSTON (AP) — A federal judge in Boston on Friday ruled the Trump administration can’t use an obscure clause relating to agency priorities to make billions of dollars in funding cuts.

Twenty-three states had a filed a lawsuit last year accusing the administration of using the clause to make cuts to everything from crime prevention to food security to scientific research. They were concerned that it would be used to cancel current and future grants.
U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani granted a summary judgment preventing the administration from relying on the clause to make cuts and denied a motion by the government to dismiss the case.

“Defendants’ interpretation of the Termination Clause is not clearly supported by the text of the provision, runs counter to the regulatory scheme, receives no support in the rulemaking history, and would violate the Spending Clause’s requirement that conditions be imposed unambiguously,” Talwani, who was nominated by Democratic President Barack Obama, wrote.
The lawsuit argued that the Office of Management and Budget promulgated the use of the clause in question to justify what it described as a “nationwide slash-and-burn campaign.”

Supporters were not chanting about tactics, goals, or trophies. Their reaction appeared to reflect something deeper: frustration, anger, and rejection aimed at one of the world’s most divisive political figures.

The moment raises a powerful question: when leaders enter public spaces, should they expect respect simply because of their position, or must respect be earned through their actions?

When Donald Trump was shown on the big screen in MetLife stadium just after the conclusion of the national anthems the crowd of 80,000 people erupted into a chorus of boos so loud that the Fox broadcast had to immediately cut away to a shot outside of the stadium. It was beautiful.

Trump Puts Networks on Notice: Stop the Censorship or Lose Your Licenses

President Trump is done tolerating the mainstream media's blatant suppression of his message. When major networks—including CNN and two of the big three—refused to broadcast his primetime address on election security, they exposed themselves for what they truly are: partisan gatekeepers more interested in silencing conservative voices than serving the American people.

This isn't about ratings or scheduling conflicts. This is a coordinated effort to keep Trump's truth from reaching millions of voters. The networks know that when Trump speaks directly to the American people about election integrity, their narratives crumble. So they black him out.

Trump's call to revoke their broadcast licenses isn't overreach—it's accountability. These networks hold licenses granted by the people to serve the public interest. When they weaponize that privilege to censor a sitting president and suppress critical information about election security, they forfeit the right to call themselves news organizations. They're propaganda outlets, plain and simple.

It's time to remind the mainstream media that their days of unilateral control over the national conversation are over. The American people deserve to hear directly from their leaders, and no network should be allowed to play gatekeeper.— in Los Angeles, CA, United States.
