True of course.
How alarmingly stunning that explicitly saying so is worth the ink.

Protests and chaos erupted across Los Angeles this weekend after federal immigration agents conducted surprise raids targeting workplaces and neighborhoods, resulting in dozens of arrests. The sweeps, carried out by ICE in areas like Westlake, downtown LA, and South LA, quickly sparked large scale demonstrations as crowds gathered outside federal buildings and detention centers, chanting for the release of those detained and condemning what many see as cruel and unnecessary enforcement tactics. The situation escalated when agents used tear gas, flash bang grenades, and pepper spray to disperse protesters, some of whom tried to block vehicles and confront law enforcement.

By Saturday, the unrest had spread, with confrontations flaring up near a Home Depot in Paramount and outside industrial parks, where riot gear clad agents faced off with demonstrators. Videos showed streets filled with smoke, fires burning, and families searching for loved ones taken by authorities. Local leaders, including Mayor Karen Bass, blasted the raids for terrorizing immigrant communities and undermining public safety, while elected officials and activists accused the Trump administration of targeting workers and families to advance a hardline political agenda.

Now, Trump and his allies are doubling down, with the administration announcing the deployment of the National Guard to LA County, framing the move as necessary to restore order but drawing sharp criticism for militarizing the streets. Critics argue Trump’s policies have turned parts of LA into a war zone, with immigrant communities living in fear and scenes of armed clashes dominating the news cycle. The administration’s claims that protestors are “insurrectionists” and the heavy handed response have only deepened the sense of crisis, as local leaders vow to resist what they call fascist overreach and protect all residents regardless of immigration status.

Dressing like they're in an active war zone to drag moms and 12-year old kids into shipping containers. We are now seeing the masked goons who will carry our the orders of the criminal regime. These are the men who will be sowing terror and fear throughout our neighborhoods for the next decade.

The GOP budget bill promises to increase the spending for these paramilitary operations by five fold. The US government is poised to spend ONE TRILLION dollars on the largest detainment and relocation program in human history. Their scheme is nothing less than a 21st century, high tech, for-profit Trail of Tears. Palantir and private prison CEOs become billionaires while we watch our nation ransacked, and millions of mostly Latino and indigenous families from Central and South America are obliterated.

America will never been the same. Whatever you used to think, it is now gone. You will now have to choose a side.

These masked men, wearing no name tags, unbound by our Constitution or laws, and subject to no one except the whims of a mad King, are demanding quarter in our streets, public spaces, homes, schools, and churches. This is in direct violation of our Third Amendment rights.

Let me remind these fucking cosplay military muppets that they last time we had a revolution, the asshats working for the King lost. We're on the eve of a second American Revolution, prepare your homes and communities.

Impressive / alarming.
Demonstrating artificial cognition is fine. But at my most recent check, years or decades ago, Eliza, primitive.
If AI can now process not merely simple phrases, or even complete sentences, but hundreds of pages of legislative text, AI has progressed substantially, impressively in my adult lifetime.

This confirms what I've been saying. The truly scary parts of the Big Beautiful Bill are not those sections that consider finance but the ones that centralize power with the executive
Trump is not the first in human history to consolidate political power, Hitler for Godwin example.
But the institutional destruction Trump has lavished so self-servingly is apparently unprecedented in the history of U.S. Constitutional law.

Hitler had a grand vision, a planet unified by a single Aryan culture, a master race.
Trump's intention may be more modest, spectacularly shallow. For good or ill, Trump is making impressive / alarming progress.

Where will we be four years from now? Trump's third presidential term? Following the coronation of King Vance ?

"Biden crime family" Speaker Johnson [R] top lieutenant Republican political crime syndicate
Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something. -- Plato

Yours is a familiar gambit for a political leader in exceedingly weak and vulnerable position Speaker Johnson. We see it in North Korea's Kim Jong Un today.

When an ineffectual or corrupt leader's position is so weak, so disgraceful he dare not call attention to it directly, instead
he redirects public attention to a boogeyman. For North Korea, that's South Korea and its Western allies.
For Speaker Johnson it's an out of power former leader from the opposing political party.

Mr. Speaker:
If out of perceived political necessity you feel the need to persuade your minions you can still fog a mirror, mission accomplished.
But you are solidifying your role as one of the major players in the Trump atrocity, as yet perhaps unnamed by history.

Mass Immigration Arrests Spark Chaos in Los Angeles

NOTE: David Huerta is the president of SEIU California (Service Employees International Union) and SEIU-United Service Workers West. He was injured during the arrest, treated at a hospital, and then transferred to the Metropolitan Detention Center. As of June 7, 2025, he remained in custody and is scheduled for arraignment on Monday.

🚨
What Happened:
• Friday, June 6: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested at least 44 people in surprise workplace raids across Los Angeles.
• One of those arrested was David Huerta, president of SEIU California, who was detained after allegedly blocking federal agents during a raid.
• The raids took place at multiple locations, including Home Depot parking lots and warehouses in the Fashion District.
• Federal officials confirmed some detainees were Mexican nationals. ICE has not released the full breakdown of immigration status for those arrested.

🪧
Protests Break Out:
• Hundreds gathered outside the Los Angeles Federal Building and a downtown detention center.
• Protesters held signs like “Free Them All” and “Stop the Deportations.”
• Some demonstrators sprayed anti-ICE graffiti, blocked law enforcement vehicles, and threw projectiles.
• Protesters chanted as they marched toward a detention site on Temple Street.

🔊
Police Response:
• LAPD declared an unlawful assembly around 7 p.m.
• Officers in riot gear used tear gas, flash bangs, and smoke bombs to disperse crowds.
• Aerial footage showed police clearing the streets to make way for armored vehicles.
• At least one protester was pinned to the ground during the confrontation.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑
Community Impact:
• Families and friends of detainees went to the detention center for answers.
• A young woman was filmed crying after her father was taken by ICE.
• Reports surfaced that some detainees were held overnight in a basement of a federal building with little food, no phone access, and no updates.

⚖️
Legal & Political Fallout:
• California Governor Gavin Newsom condemned the actions as “reckless and cruel,” and called the federal sweeps part of an arbitrary arrest quota.
• Mayor Karen Bass called it “mass chaos” and said the city received no prior notice.
• LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell stated LAPD will not assist with deportations or ask about immigration status:
“We want everyone, including our immigrant community, to feel safe calling the police.”
• U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli warned:
“I don’t care who you are, if you impede federal agents, you will be arrested and prosecuted.”
• David Huerta, after being treated for injuries, said:
“Hard-working people, and members of our family and our community, are being treated like criminals… This is not justice. This is injustice.”

🧾
Summary:
• The June 6 immigration raids triggered protests, mass detentions, and strong backlash from California leaders.
• As of now, ICE has not confirmed how many remain detained, or whether any legal immigrants were mistakenly swept up.
• This event is part of Donald Trump’s expanded immigration enforcement push in California, and is intensifying public distrust.

A draft report from the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) — commissioned during the Trump administration — analyzed fiscal data for refugees and asylees from 2005 to 2014.

It found that they paid $269.1 billion in taxes and other government revenue, while receiving about $206 billion in services and benefits. That yielded a net positive contribution of $63 billion across all levels of government.

Yet, despite this positive finding, the final version released to the public omitted the benefits and focused solely on costs. This occurred after Stephen Miller—then a senior White House advisor—reportedly intervened, stating that “The President believes refugees cost more, and the results of this study shouldn’t embarrass the President.” Officials from HHS and the White House even “cherry-picked” data to support anti-refugee rhetoric.

This study isn’t speculation—it’s the government’s own analysis, drafted by analysts, showing refugees contribute a net fiscal benefit.

The suppression appears politically motivated, undermining transparency and allowing false narratives to persist.

It highlights yet again how selective data presentation can distort policy debates, often to the detriment of vulnerable populations.

Refugees contributed $63 billion more to our country than they cost. It comes from an internal federal study that was later suppressed. The manipulation of its release suggests a clear effort to shape public perception, not present balanced facts. (Links provided in comments below).

For those of us who follow Jesus, we are called to be a people who stand for the truth.

We are called to be a people who care for the stranger as we would care for Jesus himself.

The suppression of a report showing refugees contribute more than they cost is not just a policy concern—it’s a moral one.

Manipulating truth to serve fear-driven policy about our refugee brothers and sisters is a form of bearing false witness. When we twist facts to justify exclusion, we deny both justice and mercy—core values of Jesus’ teachings.

Those of us who have worked with the refugee and immigrant community first hand have already known this reality to be true. They are hardworking, tax paying, skilled, and incredible people.

Most importantly, they deserve dignity, respect, and to not be lied about by people more in love with money and power than people.

We should be continually outraged by the perpetual claim that this is administration stands for “Christian values.” Bearing false witness about our neighbors we have been called to love as ourselves has nothing to do with Jesus and brings about real harm.

We must stand for the truth and call these false, dehumanizing narratives for what they are.

“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.” -Exodus 20:16

“The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself.” -Leviticus 19:34

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.” -Jesus (Matthew 25:45).

Oh.

White House struggles to find qualified people willing to work for Pete Hegseth

At least three people have turned down potential roles working for the defense secretary and former Fox News host. Supporters say his leadership has been effective.
Top Defense Department jobs, including the defense secretary’s chief of staff, are normally considered prestigious and typically attract multiple qualified candidates. But at least three people have already turned down potential roles under Hegseth, according to a former U.S. official, the defense official and a person familiar with the matter.

Low IQ MAGA voters may take patriotic pride in "America First" priority. How do such voters know it's "America First"? Because the president of the United States told them so. BUT !

U.S. national defense is a significant priority.
President Trump can tell any lie he likes.
But can we dismiss as partisan rivalry, an administration's inability to fill these top positions with qualified applicants? Perhaps part of that problem is the unqualified officeholders Trump has already installed.
Secretary Hegseth's inadequate portfolio aside:

If you want to truly understand Trumps agenda,
take the time to read the words of someone who worked for him and really understands him by Eileen Workman:

I know a little something that so many do not appreciate about Donald, but that those of us who worked with him in the financial services game have known for many decades—LONG before he ever made a run at politics.

His stated motives rarely reveal his true agenda. His showmanship and charisma bedazzles the uninformed, which is exactly how he likes it.

He never signed a contract or met an agreement he wouldn’t violate or wriggle out of if it suited his hidden agenda. He never met an investor whose purse he didn’t consider his own in some strategic way. And he never met a human being he wouldn’t screw in order to advance or satisfy himself.

If you want to understand his beef with Panama, don’t look at the canal to which he now points. Look at Trump enterprises and their fraught financial and criminal relationship with Panama, and look to the Russian oligarchs who bought condos in his Panama Tower.

If you want to understand his fixation with Gaza, don’t look at the Palestinian or Israeli people; look at the real estate value he now perceives that Gaza holds, and he’d like to unlock.

If you want to understand his insane, obsessive beef with energy renewable windmills, don’t look at the wind energy aspect; look at his beef with Scotland over his golf course and the nearby windmills that damaged his idea of its aesthetics.

If you want to understand his irrational hatred of Obama, don’t look at the policies of the Obama administration; look to the annual press corp dinner where Obama poked fun at him and bruised his ego. If you want to understand his demonization of Democrats, look not to Democratic social policy, but to the fact they didn’t want him to run under color of their party.

If you want to understand his hatred of “immigrants” don’t look to the actual contributions and challenges related to immigration, but to his own germophobia and personal disgust for all things “dirty and brown.”

What he does SO masterfully, as many sociopaths do, is figure out how to align, however temporarily, his own personal agenda with the drives of those he can then USE to help him execute it. And the GOP fell right in line with that abusive strategy.

The GOP now looks much like a battered wife who would LOVE to quit Trump, but who also knows their financial security, personal comfort, and social status would collapse if they ran away. And they fear they won’t get much sympathy or support from the people who tried to warn them not to marry the dude—a serial, liar, cheater, thief, sadist, and a generally Bad Person.

Many of the GOP politicians today are busily masking their own abuse from the general public; at some point, however, as they watch their power continue to erode, their reputations get smashed, and themselves get blamed for the extensive abuse they now suffer, something’s gonna give.

I don’t know what it is, but every bone in my body FEELS an energetic convergence heading toward a massive, MASSIVE explosion—coming soon.

BREAKING: California Governor Gavin Newsom hits back hard after Donald Trump throws his full-throated fascist support behind the idea of arresting him for opposing the brutal ICE crackdowns.
Things are quickly spiraling out of control…
“The President of the United States just called for the arrest of a sitting Governor. This is a day I hoped I would never see in America,” Newsom wrote on X.
“I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican this is a line we cannot cross as a nation — this is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism,” he added.
Newsom’s remarks came after Trump stated that Border Czar Tom Homan should follow through on his truly insane threat to arrest the governor.
“I would do it if I were Tom,” Trump told reporters. “I think it’s great. Gavin likes the publicity, but I think it would be a great thing.”
“Look, I like Gavin Newsom. He’s a nice guy. But he’s grossly incompetent,” he added.
In reality Donald Trump should be the one getting arrested. His deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles amidst ongoing protests was a blatantly unconstitutional act designed to escalate the chaos.
Newsom has stood tall throughout this crisis. On Sunday, he defiantly addressed Homan on MSNBC—
“Come after me, arrest me. Let’s just get it over with, tough guy, you know? I don’t give a damn,” said Newsom. “But I care about my community. I care about this community.”
“The hell are they doing? These guys need to grow up,” he continued. “They need to stop, and we need to push back. And I’m sorry, to be so clear, but that kind of bloviating is exhausting. So, Tom, arrest me. Let’s go.”
“He’s a tough guy, why doesn’t he do that? He knows where to find me,” said Newsom.
“But, you know what? Lay your hands off 4-year-old girls that are trying to get educated,” Newsom added. “Lay your hands off these poor people that are just trying to live their lives, man. Trying to live their lives, paying their taxes … been here ten years.”
If Trump does in fact arrest Newsom for opposing his illegal acts we’ll have crossed the Rubicon into full-blown fascism. Every single member of the administration involved in this assault on the rule of law should be prosecuted.
