Broad generalization may lead us astray Mr. Prime Minister."This is not the act of a friend." ~ Australian PM Anthony Albanese #1,380
We can agree at the outset this is an exceedingly embarrassing segment of U.S. history, and foreign policy. Please don't take it personally.
A guileless but politically determinative minority of the U.S. electorate has apparently been naïvely duped by a carnival huckster, a con-man.
Perhaps L.P."We have no eternal allies and we have no perpetual enemies. Our interest are eternal and perpetual, and these interest it is our duty to follow." Lord Palmerston 1848
But many if not most U.S. citizens have taken the following pledge, "pledge" and "oath" being quite similar if not indistinguishable.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
and to the republic for which it stands,
one nation
under God,
indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.
This ostensibly binding commitment may be widely disregarded, violated by those that have taken it.
But at very least it outlines the pretense, not perhaps what we are, but what we would wish to be.
An if these few words of principle are not antithetical to you, to your nation, to your People,
then please understand we haven't knowingly forsaken them, or you.
Our CEO is currently undergoing global economic O.J.T.
This may take a while.
Until he graduates, good luck good friend.
