You do have to admit that watching Trump supporters tie themselves in knots trying to claim it was not a Nazi salute is hilarious though.
It deflects from the fact they have not rejected Nazi principles, starting with purifying the nation with the largest mass-deportation of illegal aliens in U.S. history. The similarities are "interesting".

I wouldn't use the word "interesting" - I think "frightening" is more apropos.
a) Thank you for reading between my line.
b) Coincidence or not, they're called "scare-quotes" (quotation marks). Scared or not, Trump's 2nd term offers us an abundance of rational justifications for alarm.
Example:

This AM, already reported, one Trump pardoned has already been re-arrested.

And now these decade-long Trump backers have suddenly turned on Trump, because Trump fulfilled a campaign promise?

Expecting loyalty from President Trump is ignorance, or stupidity. Trump is even disloyal when loyalty is required by law:

Widely regarded as uncontroversial, such assertion seldom if ever needs such protection, yet retains it whether challenged or not.
Trump is a world-class headline grabber. But I don't recall any Trump administration intention to infringe 1A, as he has with for example Article #14, Section #1, birthright citizenship.
Trump may have, appeared to dislike the sermon. Has Trump threatened the First Amendment rights of this bishop, or any other?
Let us not conflate ideological dislike with political opposition.
