It deflects from the fact they have not rejected Nazi principles, starting with purifying the nation with the largest mass-deportation of illegal aliens in U.S. history. The similarities are "interesting".

I wouldn't use the word "interesting" - I think "frightening" is more apropos.

a) Thank you for reading between my line.
b) Coincidence or not, they're called "scare-quotes" (quotation marks). Scared or not, Trump's 2nd term offers us an abundance of rational justifications for alarm.

Example:
President Trump wasted little time in conferring presidential pardon to over one thousand of his Jan. 6 crony criminals.
This AM, already reported, one Trump pardoned has already been re-arrested.

Alleged Jan. 6 defendant pardoned by Trump is re-arrested on federal gun charge

By Doug Cunningham
Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Pardoned Jan. 6 Capitol attack defendant Daniel Ball was arrested again Wednesday on a pending federal gun charge.
Ball was charged in May 2023 with assaulting officers and using a dangerous weapon and explosives to commit a felony during the pro-Trump mob Capitol attack.
The new indictment is based on Ball's alleged possession of a gun as a convicted felon.
Ball's trial on 12 charges brought in 2023 related to the Capitol attack was scheduled to start Jan. 6. But President Donald Trump's controversial pardon dismissed that case.

Very well Donald.
History regards presidents more by deed than by word.
Your long checklist of presidential "accomplishments" already includes a key, memorable achievement.

TRUMP ACCOMPLISHMENTS LIST:

BUT !
You haven't even completed your first week. We're confident you'll extend this Trump accomplishments list before Jan. 20, 2029, public safety be damned.

"94 million pounds" Sterling? Or some rather more aromatic currency?

drift:
- The U.S. & the U.K. are separated by a common language. - attributed to Sir Winston Churchill

In the U.S. one trillion = 1,000,000,000,000.
In the U.K. one trillion = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000.
In the U.K., trillion - tri-million, eighteen zeroes, 3 x 6.

Why don't English people learn to speak English ?

Trump revokes security for his former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

By Alayna Treene, Kaitlan Collins and Jamie Gangel, CNN 6:59 PM EST, Thu January 23, 2025

CNN —
President Donald Trump has revoked the security detail for his former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who had received ongoing protection due to threats from Iran after taking a hardline policy toward the country during Trump’s first administration, three sources familiar with the move told CNN.
The decision to strip Pompeo of his State Department security detail, first reported by The New York Times, comes shortly after Trump terminated the Secret Service detail that was assigned to his former national security adviser John Bolton. ...
Pompeo was deeply involved in shaping the first Trump administration’s policy toward Iran and played in a role in Trump’s order to assassinate top Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani in early 2020.
“Somebody is going to get killed, there is a credible and serious Iranian threat against Pompeo and Bolton,” they said. - and -Hear what Bolton thinks Trump pulling Secret Service detail means for him The Lead

Donald:
What message do you think this sends to those that YOU might consider as cabinet members for your second presidential term?
Public service is one thing. But at personal mortal risk?
You hanging Pompeo and Bolton out to dry is likely to preclude the participation of the competent, leaving President Trump a broad pool the incompetent from which to select.
If you continue to shoot yourself in the foot this way sir, you're quite likely to exhaust your own god-given supply of feet.

Pompeo and Bolton ... #1,592

Pompeo, Bolton, and Fauci.

President Trump terminates Dr Fauci's taxpayer-funded security detail

Asked if he would feel partially responsible if something were to happen to Fauci or Bolton, Trump said he would not.

"The Fraternal Order of Police has backed Trump in every one of his campaigns, but ..." #1,594

Oh?
Why?
Trump ANNOUNCED well in advance of the 2024 election his intention to pardon his Jan. 6 co-conspirators.
And now these decade-long Trump backers have suddenly turned on Trump, because Trump fulfilled a campaign promise?

"Guess loyalty only goes so far when the "law and order" crowd starts eating its own." #1,594

"loyalty" > politics: deconstructed
Whose "loyalty"?
Expecting loyalty from President Trump is ignorance, or stupidity. Trump is even disloyal when loyalty is required by law:
"law and order crowd"
You include Trump? Based on what?
ARTICLE2. SECTION 1 - 7, ARTICLE2. SECTION 3.
"Hang Mike Pence", Trump's personally chosen VP.

Insinuating "loyalty" here may be outright error.
I suspect police misperception of similar intentions the more plausible, the more likely explanation.

"Notice how "free speech" and "religious freedom" suddenly doesn't apply to a Christian bishop in her own church." @Brcremer

Agenda-driven "criticism", in my opinion.

"I love you mommy." is speech protected by the First Amendment. BUT !
Widely regarded as uncontroversial, such assertion seldom if ever needs such protection, yet retains it whether challenged or not.

Trump is a world-class headline grabber. But I don't recall any Trump administration intention to infringe 1A, as he has with for example Article #14, Section #1, birthright citizenship.

Trump may have, appeared to dislike the sermon. Has Trump threatened the First Amendment rights of this bishop, or any other?
Let us not conflate ideological dislike with political opposition.

"The person giving this sermon should be added to the deportation list." Rep. Mike Collins

Insanity, a contagion?

It's a congestion, a churn, a perceptual maelstrom.
Not clear to me if Rep. Collins would have said so without Trump for Collins to ingratiate himself to.

What I need is a distraction.
Not that I'm foolish enough to believe ignoring facts negates them.
The serenity prayer, vexing myself into pretzel-like geometry will not ameliorate Trump policy / action.
