WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday suggested his support for the decriminalization of marijuana, saying taxpayer dollars should not be wasted arresting people carrying "personal amounts."
"In Florida, like so many other states that have already given their approval, personal amounts of marijuana will be legalized for adults with Amendment 3," Trump said about an effort in his home state to legalize the possession and purchase of up to 3 ounces for adults over the age of 21.
"Whether people like it or not, this will happen through the approval of the voters, so it should be done correctly."
a) Splendid.
b) You didn't know this the day you were inaugurated president?

Compulsive Liar and Convicted Felon says terror attacks would never have happened if he were President. Except....

These terror attacks happened when he was president.

  • 2017 Charlottesville Car Attack
  • 2017 Las Vegas Shooting
  • 2017 New York City Truck Attack
  • 2018 Austin Package Bombings
  • 2018 Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting
  • 2019 Poway Synagogue Shooting
  • 2019 El Paso Walmart Shooting

It can take an army of talented Mennonite craftsmen a full day to build a barn, but a few seconds for a bumbling drunkard to strike the match that burns it down.
Thus destruction is vastly simpler, easier than construction.

"You're going to have such great healthcare at a tiny fraction of the cost."candidate Trump 16/10/25 from campaign podium

“It will be repeal & replace. It will be essentially simultaneously. It will be various segments you understand, but will most likely be on the same day or the same week.” President Elect Trump at his only post election victory news conference in New York 17/01/11 / FNS

“Nobody knew that healthcare could be so complicated.” President Trump

"I'm not gunna have time for retribution. We're gunna make this country so successful again, I'm not gunna have time for retribution. And, and remember this. Our ultimate retribution is success." Trump on FOX News Democracy '24 Iowa Town Hall television

“I'm gunna be workin' for you. I'm not gunna have time to go play golf.” GOP pres. cand. Trump “8/2/16”

note: President Trump played golf. President Trump did not repeal Obamacare and replace it with superior, lower cost healthcare. That's plausible reason to imagine if Trump obtains a 2nd presidential term, he may find time for retribution after all.

Who on Earth is stupid enough to believe this guy ?

a) I'm not endorsing any of these Republican positions.
b) Has the GOP suddenly become the champion of human rights?

However, bear in mind the U.S. Republican Party has been hijacked by a charlatan, a convicted felon. Currently on probation?

This doesn't reduce the harm of Republican treachery inflicted during the previous millennium.

But in the new millennium we're dealing with an entirely new kind of Republican malicious usurpation of human rights.

In the 19th Century Abraham Lincoln [R] supported the Union, not the rebels.

In the 21st Century Donald Trump [R] is the rebel.

That's not an excuse to ignore history. It's a reminder that simple ideological extrapolation does not predict the current Trump / Vance campaign platform.

Trump pushes to shut down the government

Story by Willis Sparks

OP presidential nominee Donald Trump is calling on House Republicans to shut down the government on Sept. 30 if Congress doesn’t pass a Republican bill to change voting rules across the country. “I would shut down the government in a heartbeat if they don’t get it,” said Trump last week.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., aware that a government shutdown five weeks before Election Day carries risks for the party that’s blamed for it, has yet to say what he’ll do.

The Save ACT is a GOP-sponsored bill that would make it illegal for non-US citizens to vote. Democrats accuse Republicans of trying to undermine US public confidence in elections by pointing out that it’s already illegal for non-citizens to vote. They also claim that some Republicans support the bill because requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration would make voting harder for low-income people, those least likely to have a passport or birth certificate, who generally vote for Democrats.

The Republican-led House and Democratic-led Senate must ....

Trump pushes to shut down the government #469

That alone is headline news. BUT !!
I'm not sure it's the main headline of this issue.
It seems Trump has methodically tried to pack the courts so he can avoid consequence for his treachery.
And it appears Trump has not ruled out overthrowing United States federal government.

Shutting down the government temporarily is Trump's cudgel, not his ultimate objective.
And Trump is so brazen about it he's rather open about it, even boastful.

Shutting down the government temporarily is Trump's cudgel, not his ultimate objective.
In this case it appears his objective is to disenfranchise "the poor" who don't have passports etc. As for why, they're more likely to support the Democrats.

It's called "voter suppression".

My contempt for this is quite basic. Deliberately applying this level of corruption is tantamount to a confession that their political agenda is so unappealing
they know they can't win the election legitimately.

So rather than revise their political platform to be more competitive politically, they just try to swindle their way into power.

Traitor tRump deputy campaign manager identified in Arlington National Cemetery dustup.

One of two staffers involved in the altercation at Arlington National Cemetery is a deputy campaign manager for Donald Trump’s reelection bid, NPR has learned.

The former president insisted this week the incident did not happen, highlighting a growing disconnect between the messaging of the candidate and his campaign.

NPR is identifying both staffers after the campaign’s conflicting responses to the incident last week outside Section 60 of the cemetery, where many casualties of Iraq and Afghanistan are buried.

The two staffers, according to a source with knowledge of the incident, are deputy campaign manager Justin Caporale and Michel Picard, a member of Trump’s advance team.

Caporale is a one time aide to former first lady Melania Trump who left the White House to work for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis before returning to the Trump campaign.

He was also listed as the on-site contact and project manager for the Women for America First rally in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6, 2021 where Trump urged the crowd to “stop the steal” before some of them stormed the U.S. Capitol.

Trump's chaotic style:
"I like conflict." Trump early March 2018
may impart to casual observers the impression Trump is less deliberate, less diabolical than he actually is.

Trump knows it's a close political race.
And patriots including veterans might have seemed a voting block Trump might easily win.
Perhaps that explains Trump's choice to appear at Arlington National Cemetery.

The incident @#473 corroborates that Trump cares more about his own marginal political fortunes than our nation's hallowed interred, and the principles for which they sacrificed.

Surreal.
Right?

Nope.

<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>

Not sure how to explain it. Mass hysteria?
Social malcontentedness?

The tradition, whether a job applicant meets minimum qualifications.
When else in history has any major party candidate been so self-disqualified?
And simultaneously so popular?

Something else is going on here.

Sometimes the context is the bigger story than the story.
Isn't the bigger story how many Republicans support Trump?
