When I was a teen my preference was delayed gratification for greater future reward.
Bitter life-long experience has taught me: get what you can first.

The headline says "They bought cabins". Did they get a deed? Or some other legal documentation of ownership?

This one's complicated because of international law.
This one's a stink-bomb.

NASA’s Simulated Mars Crew Marks One Year Inside Habitat

Oct 19, 2026
The four crew members in NASA’s simulated Mars mission have spent the past year living and working in isolation in a confined habitat at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. For the past 365 days, the Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog (CHAPEA) Mission 2 crew members have operated as though they were on the Red Planet, growing crops, managing limited resources, navigating communication delays, and conducting suited extravehicular activities on a simulated Martian surface.
Crew members include Ross Elder, mission commander; Ellen Ellis, medical officer; Matthew Montgomery, science officer; and James Spicer, flight engineer. They entered their 1,700 square foot 3D-printed habitat Oct. 19, 2025. Leading up to the one-year mark of their 378‑day mission, science teams at NASA prepared to process health and performance data collected on the crew. This critical data can help NASA balance priorities and develop methods that counter spaceflight risks during future long-duration missions on Mars.
“We are extremely proud of the crew for their commitment and achievements over the last year on such a fast-paced, highly demanding mission,” said Grace Douglas, CHAPEA principal investigator. “The entire CHAPEA team is excited to congratulate the crew in person.”
The crew will exit their habitat on Saturday, Oct. 31, to conclude their mission. They will have a chance to reconnect with their families, who they’ve only spoken with via email over the course of their mission with a Mars-like communication delay. The crew will then begin two weeks of post-mission evaluations and debriefs with NASA scientists.

Sending humans to Mars is a bad idea.

"Christianity - Bullying people for 2000 years" #645
Some laymen may not understand as a matter of settled law via stare decisis / court precedent "freedom of the press" isn't
about a right to read newspapers, but a right to print them. Further,
it is therefore axiomatic that "Freedom of the press" applies to anyone that owns a printing press.

The intended purpose of CitizenVoice.us is as a forum for persons of good conscience to share their views, challenge assertions, impart constructive synergy to socio-political discourse.
That is not intended as an invitation to libel an enormous segment of Earth's population.

"The remedy for bad speech is good speech." U.S. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis

There are problems with the anti-Christian meme in #645.
During the first year of Christianity, did its adherents bully people?
Not to deny the horror of the Inquisition.
Instead, to question how faithful those that perpetrated it were to Christ's teachings.
"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful." *
When meddlers invoke Christ's name to censor libraries, restrict women's reproductive rights, is their political / legal meddling genuinely consistent with principles Christ taught?

"Christianity - Bullying people for 2000 years" #645
Perhaps we can agree some of those claiming to be Christian have bullied.
Does that not mean these meddlers victimize Christianity?
In that case, does it make sense to blame the victim?

I "sear" administer CitizenVoice.us
I'm not Christian, not Muslim, not Jewish, probably not religious by standard definition.
I seek truth, let the chips fall where they may.
I've attended church.
I've met many that also have.
As the Internet maxim reminds:
attending church for a few hours each Sunday doesn't render one a Christian any more than
loitering in the garage for a few hours renders one an Oldsmobile.

Beware the poseurs.

* "Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful." sometimes attributed to Seneca the Younger(c.3 BCE - CE 65)
I know this quote is commonly attributed to Seneca, but it is mistakenly attributed to him. How do I know this? In Volume 1 of "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire", written by Edward Gibbon,he writes, "“The various modes of worship which prevailed in the Roman world were all considered by the people as equally true; by the philosopher as equally false; and by the magistrate as equally useful. And thus toleration produced not only mutual indulgence, but even religious concord." source: makingsense Administrator Rob W. I think it’s embarrassing that a Texas high school student has had to go to federal court to fight for a role she already earned in her school musical. Yet, as always(especially in the Lone Star State), here we are.

Ana Mota was cast as Seymour in South Grand Prairie High School’s production of 'Little Shop of Horrors'.

According to the lawsuit filed on her behalf by her parents, she auditioned, went through callbacks, was selected by her theatre teacher and began rehearsing.

The complaint alleges that administrators then directed that she be removed because she is female and replaced by a male student. Her family is asking the court to restore the production and allow her to perform the role, alleging violations of Title IX.

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Russia won't be allowed to compete at the 2027 World Junior Hockey Championship, which kicks off next month in Alberta.

Asked about it on Tuesday, he announced that Russian and Belarusian athletes won't be permitted to represent their countries in Canada as long as the war in Ukraine continues.

It comes after the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled Friday that Russia must be reinstated to international hockey, starting with this tournament.

The ruling sent shockwaves through the international hockey community, with Sweden, Finland, Czechia and Latvia all refusing to play against Russia, and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress urging the government not to issue visas to the team.

Meanwhile, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith had said she wouldn't try to block Russia's participation

Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Latvia and the Czech Republic will refuse to play Russia at next year's men's Ice Hockey World Championship in Germany due to safety concerns and geopolitical tensions, their national federations said on Tuesday.

OK
So we need a broad-spectrum headline to flash this message. How about:

Ice Hockey : Extending Sanity Beyond The Rink, Around The World

It appears you "get it" S2.
For those that haven't yet, ice hockey has a superficial reputation for being played by contentious, violent, athletic thugs.

In that context, ironic that the globe (the world outside the rink) is getting a lesson in civility from ice hockey.

Vlad! You're in the penalty box !

Interesting if true

The claims in this social media post are mostly true.
The information accurately describes a real legal mechanism regarding the Electoral College and correctly reflects the political math following the November 2026 midterm elections. [1, 2, 3]

The Context of Jen Psaki's Comments
During post-election coverage of the 2026 midterms, MSNBC host Jen Psaki noted that Democratic "blue wave" victories gave the party enough state-level control to potentially change how presidents are elected. [1, 2, 3]
  • What she meant: She was not suggesting Democrats would unilaterally dissolve the text of the Constitution. Instead, she was referencing an existing legislative strategy called the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC). [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • The Constitutional Basis: Under Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution, state legislatures hold the exclusive authority to choose exactly how they allocate their presidential electors. [1, 2, 3]
How the Compact Works
The NPVIC does not technically "get rid of" or abolish the Electoral College; rather, it effectively sidesteps it from within the existing framework. [1, 2, 3]
  1. States that join the compact pass a law pledging to award all of their electoral votes to whichever presidential candidate wins the nationwide popular vote, regardless of who won that specific state. [1, 2, 3]
  2. The compact has a built-in trigger: it only takes effect once signed by enough states to reach 270 electoral votes—the exact number required to win the presidency. [1, 2, 3]
  3. Once the threshold is reached, the candidate who wins the national popular vote is legally guaranteed to win the Electoral College. [1, 2, 3]

The 2026 Midterm Math
The second commenter accurately outlines the new political landscape: [1]
  • Before the election: 18 states and Washington, D.C. had already joined the compact, representing 222 electoral votes. It was 48 votes short of activation.
  • The Shift: In the November 2026 midterms, Democrats secured full "trifecta" control (winning the governorship and majorities in both legislative chambers) in five critical states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada.
  • The Path Forward: Together, those five newly flipped states hold 61 electoral votes. If all five choose to pass legislation joining the compact, the total would climb to 283 electoral votes, comfortably crossing the 270 threshold needed to activate the popular vote system for the 2028 election. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

The Caveat
While the mathematical path now exists, activation is not a guarantee. State Democrats must still choose to prioritize and pass the bills through their respective statehouses. Furthermore, legal experts emphasize that the compact would immediately face significant constitutional and legal challenges in court before it could be implemented. [1, 2, 3, 4]
