"Blue" can have connotations including:
- "blue" as in Democrat dominant as in "blue State" vs "red State", Republican dominant.
- despondent
- low temperature.

I try where possible to avoid ambiguity. I call the season "autumn" rather than "fall", to exclude the unintended meaning / suggestion of plummet. many etc.

However:

"In the black" implies deficit avoided, whereas
"in the red" implies deficit / debt incurred.

By that standard we could go with "black", but that also implies grim.
