There was a similar semantic struggle generations ago, between Mrs. & Miss. as a title for young women.
The semantic solution seems simple enough in retrospect: " Ms. "

Problem solved.

Well ?!
Fine. It's a new millennium.
It's a different distinction, rather than marital status, sex.

So?

Ms. Labelle,
your resourceful creative talents are on prominent display here @CV.us and elsewhere.

Rather than continuing to whine about it in 3 part harmony, why not offer a solution?

Instead of Mr. or Ms., why not Mm? Make sense Mm Labelle?

- or -

You can continue to squeal like a stuck pig ad infinitum.

When I see Mm Labelle I immediately think of Mademoiselle (in part because her last name sounds French) abbreviated Mlle or Dlle, traditionally given to an unmarried woman.

BTW, Ms Labelle and her husband have finally received approval to begin in vitro fertilization.

I'd hoped to not present #1,043 as a taunt, but as stern encouragement. I may have missed. Pun?

"received approval"
"The fact that Americans speak about "legalizing" abortion, gambling, marijuana, and so forth shows that they no longer look down on their government as their servant but look up to it as their master. For to legalize is to permit; and to permit implies a relationship between a superior and a subordinate - as when a parent permits a child to go swimming, stay up late, or eat sweets after his meal." psychiatrist Thomas Szasz
Utilitarians don't need extensive persuasion on the per capita $advantages of socialized medicine. BUT !
One of the things we forfeit with the benefit of government included collective bargaining is fundamental reproductive autonomy.

My formal biology study didn't go any further than high school.
My informal study ... hubba ...

I'm guessing the amount of engineering necessary to convert a male human adult into a female human capable of reproduction, if available at all, is for now limited to research labs, not patient treatment centers.

It hardly matters. As long as they're loving, nurturing parents ...
