What to call this thread?

"What risk are you referring to? If you're concerned about male pedophiles in the women's washroom with your daughters, they're already in the men's room with your sons." S2 #721
I haven't reviewed the stats, or the methodology of collecting them.
But as I believe heterosexuals outnumber homosexuals among adults,
as a layman (pun if any not intended) I imagine heterosexual pedophiles outnumber homosexual pedophiles.

I consider your counterpoint quasi-legitimate. I reject it to the degree that it suggests there are other risks, so we can disregard this specific risk.
But I also believe in efficiency, and utilitarian expenditure of public resources.

Example (clumsily, hastily formulated, for illustrative purpose):
If we have $X in the budget, and can spend exactly that amount on either safety-belts in school buses, or MMR vaccinations, my opinion is it's best to spend it for the optimized benefit per child per $dollar.

CERTAINLY our children face a spectrum of risks.
While I realize it's impossible to protect them all 100% from all potential risks, I don't believe that fact justifies ignoring risks entirely.

We should do what we can within reason, within budget, for their safety. BUT !

Your counterpoint should not be ignored. It's unwise to expend scarce finite resources to solve a problem we don't have, if in so doing we multiply one or more problems we (the children) do have.
As a layman I don't know enough about risks to children in 2025. For example they may need cyber-protections I know nothing about. I'm not opposing it out of ignorance. I'm acknowledging
to insure we're budgeting responsibly we have to know the entire threat / risk spectrum. If trans is on that spectrum we are obliged to not ignore it. AND
if not ...

"So what specific risk do transpeople using the washroom that matches their gender pose?" S2 #723
Yes. That's precisely the question.

I am not an authority on it. Any impression I'd present would be a guess. My guess is they may be (approximately within margin of error) about the same % risk as the rest of the washroom-using population. BUT !!

There's more to it than that. One step at a time:
a)
The familiar paraphrase / misquotation is:
-Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. - Lord Acton
But the quotation, according to Bs '98:
"Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely" writes John Emerich Edward Dalbert-Acton, 53, April 5 to Cambridge University professor Mandell Creighton. Lord Acton is a liberal Roman Catholic and a leader of the opposition to the papal dogma of infallibility

Herbert clarifies:
"All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that power is a magnet to the corruptible." Frank Herbert
b)
We see opportunistic exploitation in related opportunities.
At church for example, in the religion bidness. It may be that Christ was not a perv., but that pedophiles understand if they masquerade as Christians, and Christians earn the trust of those in the communities they serve,
unscrupulous pedophiles may exploit the opportunity, insinuate themselves into the church, and then under protection of the trust ethical practitioners have earned, exploit young children.

Should we / can we blame Christianity for this? Or should we direct our scorn to the criminals that corrupt the system?

"So what specific risk do transpeople using the washroom that matches their gender pose?" S2 #723
A malicious or malignant evil-doer may similarly masquerade as trans, to gain otherwise illegal access.

CERTAINLY trans citizens have as much 14th Amendment equal protection Constitutional right as anyone else. BUT !!
When rights conflict, we are obliged to defer, to decide for the benefit, the defense of children.

Got a better idea?

So what specific risk do transpeople using the washroom that matches their gender pose?
It's Wednesday May 21, 2025.
We can accept today as the baseline, and reason from here. BUT !

To do that is to swill the trans-kool aid. There is an alternate perspective.

Specifically, that an individual needs surgical & perhaps bio-chemical augmentation to get right with self-identity.

All that is premised on the simple binary delusion, male / female.

Wouldn't it be more true to the individual to instead accept our birth configuration, even if in overlapping bell-curves the most masculine woman seems more manly than the most effeminate male?

In my 70+ years I've met some rather masculine looking women, and some rather feminine looking men. Are those that opt for trans not party to their own self-catalyzing social vortex?

The medical conclusion is that the judges really need an education in biology. They screwed up badly. Trans and intersex people will suffer injustice as the result.

The UK Supreme Court's ruling and the rights of transgender people

On April 16, 2025, the UK Supreme Court ruled that only those who are what it terms as biologically female can be defined as women.1 This has wide implications for medicine as well as for people who are transgender. The Court's document runs to 88 pages. The Court's position on sex is set out several times. For example, on page 50:

“The definition of sex in the EA [Equality Act] 2010 makes clear that the concept of sex is binary, a person is either a woman or a man…Although the word ‘biological’ does not appear in this definition, the ordinary meaning of those plain and unambiguous words corresponds with the biological characteristics that make an individual a man or a woman. These are assumed to be self-explanatory and to require no further explanation.”1

These assumed self-explanatory biological characteristics are at the heart of the Court's decision. But crucially, they lack any explicit definition. The Court's entire argument rests on the existence of a precise and universal definition of ...

This political tactic common with the MAGA monolith, when a legitimate persuasive argument cannot be made (as is so often the case with the Trump agenda),
simply outright lie.

NEW UTAH STUDY CONCLUDES THAT HORMONE TREATMENT FOR TRANSGENDER YOUTH IS SAFE, EFFECTIVE, AND MAKES THEM HAPPY.

In 2022, the State of Utah ordered a study on hormone treatment for trans youth. 1 week ago the study was released. It concluded the following:

"The consensus of the evidence supports that the treatments are effective in terms of mental health, psychosocial outcomes, and the induction of body changes consistent with the affirmed gender in pediatric [gender dysphoria] patients. The evidence also supports that the treatments are safe in terms of changes to bone density, cardiovascular risk factors, metabolic changes, and cancer…

It is our expert opinion that policies to prevent access to and use of [gender-affirming hormone therapy] for treatment of [gender dysphoria] in pediatric patients cannot be justified based on the quantity or quality of medical science findings or concerns about potential regret in the future, and that high-quality guidelines are available to guide qualified providers in treating pediatric patients who meet diagnostic criteria."

Less than a month ago, The US Dept of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a report that rejected decades of science, evidence, and direct experiences by young people, their doctors, and their families. The report claimed without evidence that medical professionals in the United States “are maiming and sterilizing a growing number of impressionable children”.

Maybe it's just me but it seems this newly released study in very conservative Utah, disagrees with the feds and their feverish anti-transgender BULLSHIT. The HHS study didn't even name the authors. Betcha a dollar that the over-the-top Christianity behind Project 2025 had a big hand in it, along with anti-LGBTQ hate groups like the very deep-pocketed Alliance Defending Freedom.

The more familiar example may be the adopted child.
Some well-meaning adoptive parents may keep the adoption secret from the adopted child, potentially leading to traumatic shock when the "secret" is discovered in adulthood.
That trauma risk can be avoided by being perfectly open about it, including informing the adopted child that they're adopted at earliest opportunity, even if before the child knows what "adopted" means.

"Honesty is the best policy." Any exceptions?

Children are taught language.
But they're naturally gifted at recognizing emotion, even before they can speak.

If the explainer in scenario #738 harbors an intense emotional snarl over such issue, the child may recognize that more clearly than whatever words the adult provides.
Thus providing age-appropriate insight to children can convey both the spoken message, and the unspoken attitude of the provider. "The emperor has no clothes."
