SAVE THE TENNIS BALLS !

Some of those that park in their own garage suspend a tennis ball from a string, about eye-level to the driver,
so the driver knows how far to drive into the garage bay to leave adequate room both front & back of the vehicle. When fuzz touches glass, cram it in Park.

This application of the tennis ball on a string is a technical solution to a practical problem. - but -
when the garage bay is unoccupied, the fuzzy pendulum can be a minor annoyance, intruding upon other garage bay activities, including refinishing the shutters.

Parsimonious sear, didn't want to squander a tennis ball.
Instead there are wooden shelves on the garage wall.
Not far enough into the garage, the shelf end-grain can be seen from the driver's seat.
Too far? It can't. Goldilocks is the solution.

At a Mensa (IQ 140 or higher) convention luncheon, the conventioneers atone table discovered the salt shaker contained pepper & the pepper shaker contained salt.
This was a Job for Mensa minds.
How could they swap the contents of the 2 shakers without spilling, using only what was at hand?
The Mensas debated the problem, & eventually determined that with only a napkin, a straw & a clean empty saucer, they could swap the contents.
But before they got going, their waitress noticed the unusual activity and asked if she could help.
The Mensas explained:

"We noticed pepper in the salt shaker, and salt in the pepper shaker."
The waitress apologized: "Oh! Sorry about that."
She unscrewed the caps from both shakers & switched them.
There was dead silence at the table.
Next time, tip your waitress generously. They earn it.
