The war in Iran (or whose war is it anyways?)

"The problem is that Iran did nothing wrong, so then ethically can't really ever "surrender".
Its not like it is inherently illegal to enrich uranium, or else all the NATO countries would be equally guilty." R5 #100
The problem is:
- Trump made the same foolish mistake other authoritarians do, including (and likely inspired by) Putin. Trump purged those that would not pledge loyalty to Trump.
- So when Trump chose to act on his will-o'-the-wisp fantasy of vanquishing Iran as easily as capturing Venezuela's Maduro, there was no body to warn Trump against it.

Though the political rhetoric in the U.S. is conspicuously bloated, it seems Iran has been a bad actor in the Middle East for many years.
Your point about Uranium may be true, but irrelevant. By Trump's own authoritative decree the U.S. already destroyed Iran's nuclear weapons infrastructure. So why did Trump opt to go back for a second bite of the apple?

Either Trump lied about the first bite, OR
Trump misrepresents his motives for this second one.

Things have to be pretty bad when one finds themselves forced to side with the Ayatollah.

I believe Iran only wants us to believe their uranium enrichment is destroyed.
Once you take the elevator down, then there could be a very long hall to the actual centrifuges, in any direction.
So unless we had an infiltrator, I very much doubt we knocked out anything.

- wrong -

Trump isn't all that popular in the U.S., as demonstrated by last weekend's "No Kings" demonstrations
not only in the U.S., but beyond our shores as well.

note:
Tomorrow SCOTUS is scheduled to consider Trump's challenge to the U.S. Constitution's enumeration of birthright citizenship.
Either way the court rules, it's likely to serve as a referendum on Trump's pseudo-regal, unConstitutional presidential approach.

The president himself told reporters exactly who advised him to go to war. The list says everything.

During a press conference on March 9, 2026, Donald Trump told reporters that his decision to launch Operation Epic Fury against Iran was shaped by conversations with Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Pete Hegseth, and Marco Rubio. Not one active military commander was mentioned. Marianne Williamson highlighted this in a widely shared statement, pointing out that Trump had purged senior military leadership the year before and then launched a major war without traditional military consultation.

The criticism cuts deeper than politics. Witkoff is a real estate investor turned special envoy. Kushner is Trump's son-in-law with no military background. Hegseth, the Defense Secretary, is a former Fox News host. Rubio is a senator turned diplomat. While each holds an official role, none carries the operational military expertise that previous presidents relied on before committing troops to combat.

The Iran war has already killed U.S. service members, closed the Strait of Hormuz, and triggered global oil price spikes. Whether the absence of military commanders in the decision-making process contributed to the escalation is a question that will define how this war is remembered.

This hyper-self-bloviated orange clown has never held elective office before the presidency.
The intention here is not to accuse the president of "learning", but for lack of more accurate description
Trump is learning OJT, on the job training.
There are assistant managers at
that could provide more refined executive governance, WITHOUT demolishing the East wing of the white house. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piggly_Wiggly

BREAKING: Trump and Hegseth hit with DISASTER after F-15 gets shot down in Iran, likely leading to the capture of its crew and the first POWs of the war…and not a WORD about it from the Trump team!

Iranian state media has published images of what appears to be the fins of a F-15 Strike Eagle of the 494th fighter squadron out of Lakenheath in the UK. Even more ominously, there are also images of an ejection seat, meaning the pilots made it out behind and are behind enemy lines.

Footage taken by farmers in the area and published by Iranian state media shows a U.S. Air Force HC-130J “Combat King II” Combat Search and Rescue plane circling and a USAF C-130 refueling two helicopters over southern Iran, indicating that a search-and-rescue mission is underway.

Unconfirmed reports also say that a US helicopter was shot down.

This is a disaster for the Trump administration, and still we’ve heard nothing from the administration about this.

It’s not too surprising, considering that the Trump admin has been caught deliberately slow-walking the release of injured and killed Americans in Trump’s needless, unprovoked war of aggression against Iran. The real number of injured service members and US contractors may be as high as 13,600, but we just don’t know because our government is engaged in a cover-up to hide from accountability – just like they are for the Epstein files!

If this shoot-down is real, then it’s safe to assume that the reports of another F-15 being shot down last month are also true. How many lies are we being told?

This is terrible news for the pilots, because Trump and Hegseth have made it clear that the lives of our service members don’t mean anything to them and they’d be happy to exploit their capture to escalate the conflict in hopes of finding a military solution to this quagmire that does not exist.

Fingers crossed for their safe return. The American people deserve better than this!

It's a cautionary tale even bumper-stickers warn of:
Watch What You Wish For
Trump deliberately surrounded himself with yes-men.
The result, spit happins.

DJ !
You're a buffoon, an amateur.
The whole world including the Iranians know it.

It's really not that good a Friday S2, no matter what the calendars say.
