The Second Term of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States of America

"I had almost forgotten about Noreiga, but looking back, I suppose Trump likely uses history has his "playbook" going forward.
However, I also bet that oil had something to do with it also." R5 #4,100
I believe there are alarming similarities between MAGA and Nazi.
“We fell in love.” President Trump commenting after his unproductive summit meeting with North Korean totalitarian dictator Kim Jong Un
!

And Trump is shockingly comfy with Vlad Putin, and seems to be patterning his own plunder pattern after Putin's milking the oligarchs.

Alarming, BUT potentially not the worst.

Only in theaters this fall, a documentary feature titled MUSK promoted as "an unflinching look at Earth's most unchecked man".

On Thursday October 8 the PBS NewsHour broadcast an interview with MUSK director Alex Gibney.
Gibney cited Musk's ownership of car / truck / robot manufacturer Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink Internet, and X which Gibney characterizes as a "propaganda platform". Gibney called this
an "integrated empire" for this $wealthiest man in the solar system. BUT !

That's just the beginning. The DOGE element of this MUSK story may be more alarming than the real-time newspaper reporting of it.
Gibney comments on Musk / DOGE in the PBS interview:
"It wasn't as all about waste, fraud, and abuse. ... if you project out 5 or 10 years it's added about $500 Billion Dollars to the deficit." Gibney
The theater feature may not provide much solace. The PBS broadcast segment can be seen here:

Human rights lawyer Navi Pillay has won the Nobel Peace Prize for her powerful work on bringing war criminals to justice, from Rwanda’s genocide trials to the UN’s Gaza inquiry.

The Nobel committee picked the 85-year-old South African as a warning, saying judges and international law are under political attack, as reported by AP and NPR.

She opened her own law practice in Natal in 1967, the first woman in the province to do it. Her clients were the regime’s enemies, and she kept making the trip out to Robben Island to see them in prison.

For 28 years as a non-white lawyer she could argue a case in front of a judge but couldn’t walk into his private chambers. In 1995 she got chambers of her own on the High Court bench.

That same year the UN sent her to Tanzania to hear the Rwanda genocide cases. She was the only woman among six judges.

Prosecutors had charged Jean-Paul Akayesu, the former mayor of Taba, with ordering mass killings and never charged him with rape. Then women testified about what was done to them at the offices he ran, and Pillay pressed for the details. The indictment got amended.

In 1998 Akayesu became the first person ever convicted of genocide by an international court. The same ruling held that rape could be an instrument of genocide. Pillay said the court wanted the world to know rape was “no longer a trophy of war.”

She went on to the International Criminal Court, led UN human rights from 2008 to 2014, and chaired the UN inquiry that concluded Israel committed genocide in Gaza.

Today she sits on the World Court, hearing the genocide case against Myanmar.

Washington has spent the time since early 2025 punishing exactly this kind of work.

The US has sanctioned a string of ICC judges and prosecutors, freezing anything they own here, over rulings on Afghanistan and the arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu.

When the committee read out her name, it still hadn’t managed to reach her by phone, France 24 reported.

And no, we won’t be discussing a certain orange elephant, because honestly, the idea that he’s even part of this conversation is offensive to her and everything she’s spent her life on.

Congratulations, Judge Pillay. Long overdue.

The only question now is how long will it take for Trump to throw a tantrum on Truth Social?

"ChatGPT ranks the US presidents." #4,106
By what criterion?
Narrow quantifiable criterion such as GNP / GDP $growth% ?
If so, is it inflation adjusted?

- OR -

Broader executive cohesion?

Gosh bless America and all that, BUT if the suggestion A.I. performed a comparative value judgement on 47 men operating during the most techno-socio-politically tumultuous quarter millennium in human history,
then I suspect the conclusions drawn are as much or more of the A.I. code writers than the presidents.

None the less, it's at least an indication of the vector toward which we careen.

A single mother in New Jersey says a lawyer for President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump warned, in a message relayed to her by another attorney, that she would lose her home, be bankrupted and end up on the street with her kids.

Joanne Carducci, known online as JoJo From Jerz and followed by more than a million people, told the Medias Touch podcast of an ordeal that has lasted months.

She says it began with a letter, several pages long, from the Trumps' personal attorney in Florida, "the same attorney that was handling the IRS case and the ABC case," she told host Ken Harbaugh. It demanded that she retract things she had said online, including a claim that Trump incited a de*dly insurrection against the U.S. Capitol. It also called for a full apology, an admission that she had knowingly lied, and a payment that had not yet been named. It set a deadline of a few days and warned of punitive damages.

Carducci says a prominent attorney first offered to help her for free, then changed course after speaking with the Florida lawyer. His advice, she says, was to meet every demand because the Trumps have "inexhaustible resources." She says she is paraphrasing her attorney's account of his call with the Florida lawyer, but that his exact words to her were: "They're going to take your house. It's the only asset you have. They're going to bankrupt you and you're going to end up on the street with your kids."

She says one million dollars was demanded at one point. Carducci says she once earned $16 an hour as a paraprofessional and rebuilt her life with no credit after a brutal divorce. She says she never considered giving in, and that her children still do not know.

Former New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin offered to help with part of her case for free, she says. She decided to go public after hearing Melania Trump on the news congratulating herself for empowering women.

"I'm still terrified, but I'm done being quiet about it."

Some may be unfair due to being a victim of circumstances, but in general presidents who let bad things like wars or depressions happen should get low ratings.
The one example that is the most unfair likely is Andrew Johnson, who congress illegally bullied.

The range of intimidation is surprising since her own lawyer lied about them being able to take her homestead house.
