The Second Term of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States of America

“We'll become the guardian of the strait. Maybe we'll call it the 'guardian angel of the strait' and we should be reimbursed for that.” President Trump audio FOX & Friends reported / rebroadcast NBC-TV Nightly News Monday July 13, 2026
NBC reports the reimbursement demand is 20% of the value of any ship's cargo.

“No country is allowed to charge tolls or fees on an international waterway. That's existing international law. That's the way is ...” Secretary of State Marco Rubio June 23, 2026 source: NBC-TV Nightly News

The metaphor: Trump has a tiger by the tail.
The Iranians have Trump twisting in the wind. pathetic

With little more than Netanyahu's encouragement Trump charged into this War with Iran without substantial consultation with NATO allies or trade partner approval.
Then after Trump disrupted their economies Trump acted imposed upon when our allies & trade partners declined to help Trump clean up the mess Trump has created in the strait.

This is the message our allies & trade partners are sending you Mr. President, though you don't seem bright enough to understand it:

If you consult with us before you begin hostilities, and we enter the undertaking as partners unified in purpose, you can count on our cooperation.
But if instead you exclude us from consultation or planning, and get yourself into a mess of your own making, we'll be happy to leave you to get yourself out of it as well.

Most world leaders already understand this.
Apparently OJT Donald does not, or at least didn't until now.

Mr President:
You declare the Hormuz Strait "OPEN", and "fair and open" and then disclose you're imposing a 20% reimbursement rate on all cargo shipped.
Sir, how can you declare this "fair and open" if the allies and trade partners subject to it have not agreed to it?

And why would they agree when the ostensible bad guys, Iran, are not imposing such reimbursement?
Why would they agree when less than a month ago your own Secretary of State said charging such tolls or fees is not allowed under existing international law?
