The Second Term of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States of America

"Crooked and Obscene": The 43-Foot Nude Trump Statue That's Got Conservative America Furious

A Nude Trump Statue Just Went Up Near Las Vegas — And the Internet Is Losing It

It's not every day a 43-foot naked statue of a former — and current — presidential candidate shows up on a major American highway, but that's exactly what happened near Las Vegas this past weekend. The sculpture, placed along Interstate 15, is generating fierce reactions from both sides of the political aisle, and it doesn't look like the conversation is dying down anytime soon.

What Is This Statue, Exactly?

The artwork — titled "Crooked and Obscene" — weighs a staggering 6,000 pounds and was built using foam and rebar. The anonymous organizers behind it described the nudity as a deliberate artistic choice, saying it was meant to spark conversation about transparency in politics and the gap between public personas and private reality. According to The Wrap, which covered the tour announcement, the creators want viewers to "think critically about political influence" and what they called a serious lack of transparency in American public life.

The statue is not a one-time installation. It's reportedly the centerpiece of a national tour, meaning it could be showing up in a city near you.

MAGA World Responds — Loudly

The conservative backlash was swift and sharp. Trump supporter and X user @MJTruthUltra, who commands a following of nearly 370,000, dismissed the sculpture as a textbook case of "TDS" — Trump Derangement Syndrome — and called its creators "despicable."

Meanwhile, @dom_lucre, an account with 1.5 million followers, tied the statue directly to the timing of a nearby Kamala Harris rally, framing it as a calculated political move by the left. His post, which included video footage of the structure, racked up over 10 million views within days.

Several conservative commentators hammered away at what they described as a political double standard. @ArmedPatriot45, who identifies as a "constitutional hardliner," put it bluntly — if anyone had done something remotely similar involving Harris, it would have dominated news cycles for days. Another account, @Bubblebathgirl, echoed the same sentiment almost word for word.

The Nevada GOP Weighs In

The Nevada Republican Party didn't stay quiet either. In an official statement released Monday, the party called the sculpture "deplorable," adding that families driving along the interstate were being subjected to something deliberately offensive rather than anything that encourages meaningful public debate.

The statement also took a broader political swipe, contrasting what it described as Trump's policy-driven agenda — covering inflation, border security, and job creation — with what it characterized as the Democratic Party's preference for spectacle over substance.

What the Authorities Are Saying

When Newsweek reached out to the Federal Highway Administration, the agency confirmed that the statue was not placed within the official right-of-way of Interstate 15 and that officials had received no prior notification about it. So far, it does not appear any legal action has been taken to remove it.

This Isn't the First Time

If the image feels vaguely familiar, there's a reason. Back in 2018, British climate activist Leo Murray made international headlines when he flew a giant inflatable "Trump Baby" balloon over London during the then-president's state visit to the UK. The nude Trump image has become a recurring motif for critics looking to make a statement.

The Bigger Picture

While the organizers behind "Crooked and Obscene" remain unidentified and there's no evidence of any link to the Democratic Party, the statue has landed in the middle of a much larger and more heated conversation. Some prominent conservative figures have argued that aggressive anti-Trump rhetoric — including imagery like this — contributes to a dangerous political climate, referencing two assassination attempts against Trump earlier this year.

But Trump himself has not been a passive bystander when it comes to provocative political imagery. Earlier this year, he reposted a video showing a truck decorated with a decal depicting President Biden bound and gagged. And ahead of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, he shared an AI-generated image portraying Harris on a stage surrounded by hammer-and-sickle flags and an audience dressed in Mao-era suits.

The line between political art and political provocation has always been blurry in American public life. But a 43-foot nude statue parked on a highway? That one's hard to miss — and apparently, that's exactly the point.

Trump's bizarre stance signals 'advancing dementia' as China trip raises health concerns

What was supposed to be a carefully choreographed moment of global diplomacy quickly became fodder for a very different conversation. As Trump stood beside Xi Jinping during formal greetings at the iconic Great Hall of the People, his noticeably wide stance drew immediate attention from viewers watching the visit unfold.

Social media lit up almost instantly. On X, users zoomed in on the footage and began weighing in. "See Trump's legs how wide apart they are? That widening gait is his advancing dementia. He's afraid he's gonna fall over," one user wrote. Another chimed in, "It's getting more and more noticeable all the time. He's doing a lot of compensating whenever he has to walk."

What the Medical Research Actually Says

The online commentary isn't entirely without a scientific basis. According to the U.S. National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), changes in walking patterns are more common among dementia patients than in people experiencing normal aging and those changes tend to ....

"the frontal lobe" SK #3,233
Not so slow SK.

The frontal lobe further contains most of the dopaminergic neurons in the cerebral cortex. Dopaminergic pathways are associated with reward, attention, short-term memory, planning, and motivation. Dopamine tends to limit and select sensory information coming from the thalamus to the forebrain.

Hyperactivity more likely the accurate characterization / diagnosis than "quiet".

Stick to fiction SK.

Rep. Thomas Massie recently said the controversy surrounding the Epstein investigative files could become one of the most significant public accountability issues in modern political history. Massie argued that the matter spans multiple years, institutions, and administrations, comparing its potential impact to major historical scandals such as Watergate scandal and the Iran–Contra affair.

He has continued calling for greater transparency and has supported efforts to release more government records connected to the case. According to Massie, the focus should remain on openness, fairness, and public trust rather than protecting or targeting any political figure or part

[The Epstein file scandal is] "bigger than Watergate" Rep. Thomas Massie #3,235
When I read this my initial reaction was that it was hyperbole.

The Nixon administration's Watergate scandal lead to the only U.S. presidential resignation in history. BUT !

President Trump's second term has not yet ended.

A more detailed comparison:
The Watergate scandal was about a burglary. Nixon reportedly had no direct involvement with the burglary itself, but instead succumbed to the cover-up.

Personally I regard pedophilia a more severe crime than hotel burglary.
And among the mysteries releasing the Epstein files may address, who are the pedophiles?

Rep. Thomas Massie may have a painfully sharp point here. Thank you S2 for the political agility to evade Trump's distractions.

Does anyone think that Trump would have the decency to step down?

BTW, there has been much speculation that Nixon coordinated with Ford and had an agreement in place that, if he resigned, he wouldn't be impeached and/or charged.

I had precisely that point in mind. I should have made it clearer.
President Richard M. [tricky Dick] Nixon had enough integrity to spare the nation the upheaval that might otherwise have ensued.

Conversely, (your point) Trump will either leave "kicking & screaming" (last time, an armed insurrection), or in a box.

I'd think less of each of them if it were otherwise.
If you'll pardon the Bushism, it was a monumentous decision, and one no president should undertake without the good counsel of his #2.

Gerald R. seemed a pretty good guy, one of the few ever to hold the office without seeking it.

You have to remember that Ford was appointed VP after Agnew stepped down and the speculation was that he was given that role because he agreed to let Nixon walk.
