The Second Term of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States of America

Are you sure?
Certainly juries at conventional trial do not.
But grand juries perform to different standards. Seems to me I vaguely recall members of a grand jury can make inquiries.

But you are forgetting a grand jury is secret, and before the person of interest has not been charged yet.
The purpose of the grand jury is to absolve the prosecutor from being sued over a weak and questionable prosecution.
So there is no defense present at a grand jury.
Which means the prosecutor can essentially lie and get away with it.

The juries at a trial can't cross examine witnesses, but the defense can.
Problem with a grand jury is that no defense is allowed to be present.

Afraid that their own tactics will be used against them ....
"Top ICE officials are reportedly worried that regular citizens will start using the Minneapolis rationale for self-defense and shoot at every ICE vehicle that drives toward them while claiming they "feared for their lives," and angry juries will let them off." HP #2,344
If this characterization is accurate, is it not a confession?
If ICE acted with constructive benevolence they should hope they in turn would be treated likewise. Right?

"Top ICE officials are reportedly worried ..."? But not worried enough to revise their own brownshirt tactics?

And what penalty will be imposed on the administration officials that interfere with / prevent this?

With any U.S. president other than Trump I might think that the answer.
In this Trump administration, I'm not even sure it matters. After the Jan. 6 pardons, Katie bar the door.

BREAKING: YES! CNN’s Jake Tapper calls out Kristi Noem’s lies about the murder of Renee Good TO HER FACE on live TV!

Kosplayin’ Klanswoman Kristi Noem, the Department of Homeland Security chief, was deployed to CNN today to continue the Trump administration’s disgusting campaign to smear murdered mother of three Renee Good as a terrorist who deserved to be killed, and it did not go well for her.

“You've also been criticized for your comments,” begins Tapper. “The shooting, we should note, was Wednesday at 1037 a.m. Eastern. Just over two hours later, the Department of Homeland Security put out a statement definitively asserting what had happened, defending the ICE agent, accusing Renee Good of domestic terrorism. That's a characterization that you reiterated in a press conference half an hour later. Now Republican Senator Tom Tillis said, it was very unusual to have a senior law enforcement official to draw a conclusion about an event where the scene was still being processed.”

“Generally speaking, law enforcement would recognize that a life was lost, that families are changed forever, the shooter's life will change forever, we're collecting video, we're trying to assess the situation. Why did you not wait for an investigation before making your comments?”

Noem replies “Well, everything that I've said has been proven to be factual and the truth. This administration wants to operate in transparency. I have the responsibility as the Secretary of Homeland Security to know this information as soon as possible. had just been in Minneapolis the day before. I had already had conversations with officers on the ground and supervisors and knew the facts and decided that the department and the people of this country deserve to know the truth of the situation of what had unfolded in Minneapolis.”

Tapper couldn’t let this go. “With all due respect, Secretary, the first thing you said was, quote, what happened was our ICE officers were out in an enforcement action. They got stuck in the snow because of the adverse weather that is in Minneapolis.”

“They were attempting to push out their vehicle and a woman attacked them and those surrounding them and attempted to run them over and ram them with her vehicle. That's not what happened. We all saw what happened.”

Noem has the nerve to try to continue to push her fake narrative despite clear video disproving her lies. “It absolutely is what happened. Those officers had been out on enforcement action. A vehicle had been stuck. They had come to help get that vehicle out. That's when this individual started blocking traffic for minutes.”

Later on in the interview, Noem tries to assert that Trump was enforcing laws equally for all people, and Tapper calls her out for Trump's cozy treatment of the January 6th rioters contrasted with the way he treats protestors mad about ICE's brutality...and Tapper calls her out:

"I just showed you video of people attacking law enforcement officers on January 6. Undisputed evidence, and I just said, President Trump pardoned all of them. You said that President Trump is enforcing all the laws equally. That's just not true. There's a different standard for law enforcement officers being attacked if they're being attacked by Trump supporters. We just saw that."

Lie, lie, lie, lie, that’s all the Trump administration can and will do for the American people. It is downright Orwellian the way that they will continue to repeat lies over and over again when evidence that we can see with our very own eyes disproves it. No hearts, no consciences, and no morals among the whole lot of them.
