All of the above were headlines pulled from the last 24 hours (Monday, 11/24/25).

My original starting list for this morning was 72 headlines; I shared 40 ‘brief’ last night (I will
📌
that in comments as well)

If you’re one of the thousands who read these notes I leave at the end of the #24in24; THANK YOU, haha. I know after reading all that, you’re exhausted, and the LAST thing you want to do is read more.

But… I can tell you read, bc you share my quotes, and ask for more.

As a historian and quotes person, you have no idea the feeling to see something I’ve shared put in quotes like that. I have been at this for years, and I don’t think I will ever get used to it.

I don’t think you all quite understand what it’s like to read comments by the thousands like this either. It’s humbling.

I try to keep up. I try to acknowledge.

I try to express that I am just as grateful as you say you are when you tell me how helpful this has been for you.

Words, just simply don’t seem to suffice.
🤲

That said, I will keep it brief today… bc the point isn’t to overwhelm—it is to empower.

Noticing, remembering, and sharing like you do isn’t passive—it’s how we stay connected to reality in a world that constantly tries to blur it.

So your reading, your sharing, your asking me to dive deeper—it all counts. It all builds a chain of awareness that can’t easily be ignored as a collective.

And yeah, I am probably the last person you need to tell it’s exhausting, haha.

But flip that… bc that exhaustion is proof we still care — and that’s exactly WHY we keep going.

Bc as long as the things they do can still shock us — there hope lives.

Bc a heart that can still break is a heart that can still build; and in every gasp of disbelief lives a memory of who we once were—AND a blueprint for who we refuse to stop becoming.

So, again — I thank you.

Bc if you read this… no matter what you say or how hopeless you feel — if hope had truly died in you, these words wouldn’t find thousands of eyes willing to carry them forward daily.

Instead, thousands of people lift them, carry them, and prove hope still has hands to not only pray — but FIGHT for change with.
🤲

Be proud of that; not everyone makes it this far.

And we know that the "Nuremberg Defense" (I was just following orders) doesn't work very well.

TROOPS TAKE MAJOR ACTION AGAINST TRUMP’S MILITARY STRIKES — TOP OFFICERS SEEK OUTSIDE COUNSEL AS ILLEGAL-ORDER SCANDAL ERUPTS
⚡
⚡

I
t started as a quiet legal inquiry — and then exploded into one of the most dramatic military-political showdowns of the year. According to insiders, US TROOPS and STAFF OFFICERS are now seeking OUTSIDE LEGAL COUNSEL, terrified they could be held personally liable for carrying out TRUMP’S CONTROVERSIAL MILITARY STRIKES in the Caribbean and beyond. The panic reportedly intensified after Trump reposted a message calling for members of Congress to be “hanged” for warning troops about illegal orders — a moment that has already trending across platforms.

Behind the scenes, insiders claim senior officers are privately clashing with Trump’s chain of command, worried the DOJ’s so-called “immunity memo” won’t protect them if international courts intervene. Even allies like France and the UK have reportedly raised red flags, fueling fears inside the Pentagon that “something has gone terribly off the rails.”

Now the full drama is spilling into public view, with experts warning this may be the most dangerous civil-military crisis in decades. Watch before it’s taken down — the internet can’t stop talking

POINT

COUNTERPOINT

Long before Trump's notably, memorably downward escalator ride, Donald had the distinctive trait of speaking in superlatives. It is the emotional timbre of the adolescent mind.
#1,922 mirrors that emotional fragility:
"... US TROOPS and STAFF OFFICERS are now seeking OUTSIDE LEGAL COUNSEL, terrified ..." #1,922
"Terrified"?

It's important news. [thank you for posting it S2]
The U.S. is not merely in crisis of both leadership and ideology. The U.S. teeters on Constitutional crisis as well, a key point #1,922 histrionics obscures.

The Democrats are aware of it.
The important message in #1,922: U.S. military leadership are painfully aware of "the "Nuremberg Defense" issues, as are the adults in congress.

The Chicken Little journalism style in #1,922 sells the message short.

The responsible professionalism of our U.S. military commanders is not a cure-all panacea.
We should expect nothing less from these among our countrymen entrusted with preserving our sovereignty. #1,922 merely exposes a little ankle in the process.
Anyone that likes sausages or laws shouldn't watch either being made. Mark Shields (among many others)

From the article linked in 1,925 "Hegseth also accused the group of failing to “cultivate masculine values,” NPR reports."
... and that's why the Boy Scout uniform is an adorable skirt, lengthed to be seductive, without being outright "professional".

Georgia prosecutor who took over 2020 election interference case says he's dropping charges against Trump and others

Pete Skandalakis, who took over the case after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was disqualified, said the case was "without precedent."

A Georgia judge ended the sprawling 2020 election interference case against President Donald Trump and his co-defendants after the prosecutor who took it over said he was dropping the charges.
"The case is hereby dismissed in its entirety," Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee wrote in a brief ruling Wednesday.
The move came shortly after Peter Skandalakis, who took over the case earlier this month after the original prosecutor, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, was disqualified, notified the judge he would not proceed with the charges.

"In my professional opinion, the citizens of Georgia are not served by pursuing this case in full for another five to ten years," Skandalakis wrote, saying he was ending the case "to serve the interests of justice and promote judicial finality."

Skandalakis wrote, saying he was ending the case "to serve the interests of justice and promote judicial finality."

note:
For millennia there has been a principle in human law "
de minimis non curat lex" (the law does not govern trifles).
The suggestion that U.S. federal elections are de minimis is preposterous.

Thus the appearance:
- either Skandalakis believes the excuse, raising questions about fitness for the office, or
- concocting an excuse that's plausible is a lower priority than achieving the desired result, shielding Trump from the judicial consequences of such corruption.

BREAKING:
Appeals court SLAPS Trump with a $1 million penalty for his fantastically frivolous fantasy lawsuit.

Donald Trump just got hit with yet another humiliating legal spanking — and this one comes with a seven-figure price tag attached.

A federal appeals court has upheld a $1 million penalty against Trump and his ever-loyal legal sidekick, Alina Habba, for what judges politely called a “frivolous” lawsuit — and what normal people would call a delusional fever dream stapled together into 193 pages of conspiracy-theory word salad.

This was Trump’s infamous 2022 “everyone who ever investigated me is part of a criminal cartel” lawsuit, aimed at Hillary Clinton, James Comey, and basically anyone within a three-mile radius of Robert Mueller’s shadow. It was a tantrum disguised as litigation — and the courts treated it accordingly.

The 11th Circuit didn’t hold back. In a scorching 36-page decision, judges said Trump’s legal theories were so laughably wrong that “the most basic legal research would have revealed” how doomed they were. Let that sink in: even a first-semester law student with a working Wi-Fi connection could’ve told him this would implode.

But Habba — who is now somehow the interim U.S. attorney in New Jersey because Trumpworld lives in a dimension where failing upward is a lifestyle — charged ahead anyway, filing a legally incoherent RICO megacomplaint that read like a Truth Social rant printed out and handed to a bailiff.

The result? Trump and Habba have now been told, in plain judicial English, that: ....
