There's more than mere invincible ignorance. President Trump was specifically questioned on this exact detail, on camera, open mic.
Trump asserted explicitly the ballroom would be constructed on white house grounds, but the white house itself would not be touched.
While unbridled ignorance may be a plausible explanation for countless other missteps by President Trump,
in this case the evidence is conclusive. Trump lied again.
The fox is in charge of hen house security.
