The Second Term of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States of America

Under Trump, US cedes its share of China's beef market to Australia

CANBERRA/CHICAGO, Sept 29 (Reuters) - Australian beef has replaced U.S. supply in China since President Donald Trump returned to the White House, funnelling hundreds of millions of dollars that have in previous years gone to the U.S. cattle industry into Australian pockets.

"Easy to win" for whom D.J. ?

Donald Trump wants to end the war in Gaza. He wants peace between Israel and its neighbors, including Saudi Arabia. And he wants a Nobel Peace Prize.

Against that backdrop, the Americans have drawn up a 21-point plan for peace that is a masterwork of diplomacy. Purportedly adapted from a similar proposal from former British prime minister Tony Blair and finalized by Jared Kushner’s seasoned team at the State Department, the plan addresses all the outstanding issues—from the cessation of fighting and the release of the Israeli hostages to the demilitarization, deradicalization, and reconstruction of Gaza and, ultimately, negotiations on the creation of a Palestinian state. The plan stops treating Gaza as solely an Israeli problem and stresses the regional responsibility for its rehabilitation. It provides the perennially sought “diplomatic horizon” for the Palestinians and an unprecedented degree of security for Israelis. Under the plan, the devastating war in Gaza becomes the catalyst for peace throughout most of the Middle East.

While Trump may not reliably score high marks from his critics, this peace plan has been characterized as among the best so far.

BREAKING: Donald Trump has a nuclear meltdown and threatens "problems with Washington like no Mayor in the history of our once great City" after NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani boldly announces that Trump "will not dictate" the race.

Zohran has these MAGA crooks terrified...

“Donald Trump and his billionaire donors may be able to determine the actions of Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo, but they will not dictate the results of this election,” Mamdani stated on MSNBC. “This continues to be the same election as it was when we started on October 23rd."

Over the weekend, Eric Adams dropped out of the race. The conservative, scandal-riddled Adams had little chance of winning, but had promised to stay in the race.

Republicans had been urging him to suspend his campaign in the hopes that his voters would flock to disgraced alleged sex predator Andrew Cuomo, a more right-wing candidate than Mamdani. Crucially, Adams met with White House special envoy Steve Witkoff earlier this month, raising the specter of a possible secret backroom deal.

Mamdani — who defeated Cuomo and others to clinch the Democratic nomination over the summer — is standing tall in the face of ....

How Donald Trump Happened: They Kept Him Afloat for a Reason...and It Wasn’t Democracy

The Frankenstein Story They Never Wanted Told --

The Setup That Made the Strongman Possible

If you’ve ever wondered how in hell a bankrupt casino operator…tabloid punchline… and reality TV con man managed to hijack a major political party…and now stands on the precipice of dismantling democracy…you need to understand something:

This didn’t “just happen.”

Trump didn’t stumble into power like a drunk tourist into a blackjack table. He was propped up…bailed out…leveraged...and finally unleashed by forces foreign and domestic…billionaires. Power brokers…and global authoritarians who all saw the same thing:

A weak man with no moral compass.
An ego that could never be satisfied.
A need for cash…power…and adoration.

And here’s the kicker: they knew they could use him.

Act One: Born into a Rotten Empire

Fred Trump built his fortune with government subsidies and political favors.

He also built it by locking Black families out of housing…the DOJ sued in 1973.

That’s the soil Donald grew in: segregation as business model…corruption as ....

There was a reason for the Geneva Convention. Rules of engagement are international and there are consequences for violating them. This administration has made us the most unsafe we’ve ever been in the history of our country.

Good morning! The Capitol spent yesterday rehearsing for calamity. Democrats and Republicans filed into the White House, where Trump and Vice President JD Vance treated the looming shutdown like another chance to rehearse the blame game. Vance declared Democrats were “holding a gun to the American people’s head,” which was rich coming from an administration threatening not just furloughs but permanent layoffs of federal workers. Schumer and Jeffries, meanwhile, rolled out human stories, families facing $400-a-month premium hikes, mothers watching their kids with cancer lose care, only to find Trump blinking back at them as if he was hearing about America’s healthcare crisis for the very first time. Republicans left muttering about “clean bills,” Democrats left swearing off cave-ins, and the rest of us are left staring down the barrel of a shutdown designed not just to squeeze but to dismantle the civil service.

As if that weren’t enough, Trump then decamped to Quantico, where Pete Hegseth summoned the nation’s generals for what was billed as a summit and staged as a pageant. Hegseth warmed up the room by sneering that “it’s tiring to look at fat troops” and complaining about “fat generals” wandering the halls of the Pentagon, because nothing says warrior ethos like body-shaming your own command. He promised to gut the Equal Opportunity program and neuter the Inspector General’s office so that future complaints of racism or sexual harassment can be dismissed as “frivolous.” He even tried a joke, “We’re not talking ....

"... if I don't like somebody, I'm going to fire them, right on the spot." OD #1,490
a) Our senior military leaders are the national defense brain-trust of the United States.
b) If Trump fulfills this commitment, it will almost certainly diminish U.S. national security as a result.

What ostensible military man did Trump like? Mark Milly? No. Pete Hegseth? - yikes -

I'd like to read in depth analysis of this written by a Constitutional law scholar.

I'd like to read in depth analysis of this written by a Constitutional law scholar.
Since when has Trump worried about the Constitution and given the makeup of the current Supreme Court it's not clear what would happen if someone were to bring such a case before them.

S2 #1,492
I hadn't intended my #1,491 as either an endorsement of Trump's fidelity to Art.2 Sect.3, or a broader manifest commitment to law & ethic.

Problem is domestic U.S. politics during this 2nd Trump administration has reached maelstrom proportions. And the meme in #1,490 is an alarming example.

So I'd just like to know what reality is here, if any.
United States Constitution - ARTICLE2. SECTION 3.
[the president] shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed
I may seem a little more fragile about the Constitution than other posters.
I swore an oath to uphold it. I would consider it traitorous to perjure it, even if (though) the president seems indifferent about it.

I don’t know who wrote this, but whoever did, hit the nail on the head. I couldn’t have said it any better myself!

Donald Trump walked into Quantico Tuesday expecting a rally. He got a funeral.

The generals sat in perfect silence, faces locked in the kind of grim stillness that comes from years of watching idiots talk and choosing not to react. Trump, of course, couldn’t handle it. “I’ve never walked into a room so silent before,” he confessed, his voice trembling somewhere between wounded pride and panic. Then came the kicker, “If you want to applaud, you applaud.”

This wasn’t leadership. This was a washed-up Vegas act begging the crowd to clap. The Commander-in-Chief turned into the Clapper-in-Chief, reduced to prodding the nation’s top brass like a sad carnival barker who forgot his punchline.

A campaign rally in uniform.

Instead of strategy, Trump delivered his usual medley of grievances: Barack Obama ruined everything, Joe Biden ruined it twice as hard, and only Donald J. Trump, self-proclaimed “two-term, maybe three-term president” could save America. It was less a military briefing than an .....

Again: Why isn’t the media reporting on Trump’s growing dementia?

Trump’s increasingly bizarre behavior can no longer be attributed to a calculated “strategy.”

Friends,

Over the weekend, on his Truth Social, Trump shared a video purporting to be a segment on Fox News — it wasn’t — in which an AI-generated, deepfaked version of himself sat in the White House and promised that “every American will soon receive their own MedBed card” that will grant them access to new “MedBed hospitals.”

What?

Believers in the “MedBed” conspiracy theory think certain hospital beds are loaded with futuristic technology that can ....

BREAKING: Hero fighter pilot Amy McGrath goes viral with a BRUTAL takedown of Donald Trump and MAGA Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth after their deranged speeches to American generals.

This is what a REAL soldier sounds like...

"Pete Hegseth still has a lot to learn, I think, unfortunately. When I flew my combat missions, there was not a set male standard and a female standard for flying an aircraft onto the back of an aircraft carrier. You can either do it or you can't," McGrath told CNN.

"And so I feel like it's the notion of standing up there and saying to the generals and admirals who all, by the way, know that there were never separate combat standards for males and females, you know, combat jobs have had one standard for a long time," she continued. "And part of when we opened combat jobs to women, those of us who were in those jobs wanted one standard to be set. And it was."

During Hegseth's widely condemned speech, he ranted about ending "woke" efforts in the military, firing ....
