The Second Term of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States of America

"Haven't seen the "kill switch" claim. Just rumors that the versions sold to non-Americans will have substandard software and it won't be upgraded" S2 #1,420
My brand new car is now 9 years old. I'd be delighted to buy a new one to replace it, BUT !
the limited dribble of information I've gotten indicates any new car with a shark-fin antenna is hackable.
Meaning, malefactors outside the automobile can take control, the risks limited to / extended by the sociopathy of the engineers of that particular model car.

So my next new car may be a '68 Mustang.

And that S2, is illustrative metaphor for what these deranged control freaks have accomplished.
By attempting to gain inappropriate control, they forfeit connection.

Therefore, sadly, premised on my unreserved commitment to the survival of Western democracy, I'm with Europe on this.
For the foreseeable future the U.S. simply cannot be accurately regarded as a reliable military alliance partner. NOT when it, Trump's U.S., threatens ostensible allies with punishing tariffs, & precisely the same savagery Putin / Russia currently inflicts on Ukraine. "Russia First"

Good morning! The American Dream is starting to look like one of those boarded-up strip malls where the only thing still open is the payday lender. New data show long-term unemployment at its highest level since the pandemic: nearly two million people out of work for six months or more, their savings gone, their benefits exhausted, their résumés going stale in real time. One in four unemployed workers has now slipped into that limbo, a place economists describe as “low-hire, low-fire.” Translation: nobody’s expanding, nobody’s moving, and if you’re the unlucky one who lost your job, you may as well be throwing your résumé into the ocean.

The human cost is brutal. IT veterans with hundreds of unanswered applications, paralegals six months behind on rent, college grads sending out résumés like confetti only to hear the same polite “not at this time.” And all the while, Trump insists the economy is “very strong,” that groceries are down, energy is down, everything is down except, of course, housing, which is somehow Jerome Powell’s fault. He says this while millions of Americans are watching their prospects evaporate like a mirage in the desert. It’s the kind of gaslighting that would make even a realtor blush.

Meanwhile, on the international stage ...

The first official podcast was an interview between Christopher Lydon and Dave Winer in July 2003, released on Lydon's blog, which is now considered the oldest continuously running podcast, Radio Open Source. The term "podcast" wasn't coined until February 2004 by journalist Ben Hammersley, combining "iPod" and "broadcast" to describe the emerging audio blogging trend.

Erasing history that they don't like ....

BREAKING: Donald Trump's white nationalist agenda kicks into hyper-drive as his administration orders the removal of signs and exhibits about slavery from multiple national parks — including the world famous photo of a slave with a scarred back.

They're erasing American history right in front of our eyes...

“This represents an enormous increase in federal power and control over the things we learn. Brought to you by the team that says education should be state and local," said Jonathan Zimmerman, an expert on the history of education at the University of Pennsylvania.

According to The Washington Post, four people "familiar with the matter" have confirmed the removal. They revealed that the scheme is part of Trump's executive order directing the the Interior Department to remove all traces of any "corrosive ideology" that casts an unflattering light on historic Americans. In practice, that means whitewashing this nation's blood-soaked racist history to make ....

BREAKING: A horrifying six-month investigation from NBC News discovers that a "large swath" of the U.S. population does not have the "basic, ground-level immunity necessary" to stop the spread of previously defeated viruses.

The anti-vaxxers are about to unleash a plague on us all...

“As childhood vaccination rates fall, we’ll see more diseases like measles. And we’ll see more children die — tragically — from diseases that are essentially entirely preventable," said Dr. Sean O’Leary, an infectious diseases expert at the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The NBC investigation, which was conducted in collaboration with Stanford University scientists, discovered that ....

So "they" don't have to bake cakes but everyone else has to print flyers

BREAKING
: MAGA Attorney General Pam Bondi declares war on everyone refusing to bow down to Charlie Kirk's memory by announcing that her corrupt Justice Department may "prosecute" people for refusing to print Kirk flyers.

And it gets so much worse...

“Businesses cannot discriminate. If you wanna go in and print posters with Charlie’s pictures on them for a vigil, you have to let them do that. We can prosecute you for that,” Bondi said on Fox News. She was referring to an incident in Michigan in which an Office Depot employee refused to print flyers for a Kirk vigil. The company has already terminated the employee.

“I have Harmeet Dhillon right now in our Civil Rights unit looking at that immediately, that Office Depot had done that. We’re looking it up,” said Bondi, who should be far more focused on ....

CBS Late Show with Stephen Colbert was cancelled.
President Trump - predicted - ABC Jimmy Kimmel would be next.
ABC's Jimmy Kimmel was next, Colbert's cancellation announced first, Kimmel's to take place first.

What relevence does this have to President Trump?
The following is a quotation from President Trump's inaugural comments starting his second presidential term.

After years and years of illegal and unconstitutional federal efforts to restrict free expression, I also will sign an executive order to immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America. (Applause.)
Never again will the immense power of the state be weaponized to persecute political opponents — something I know something about. (Laughter.) We will not allow that to happen. It will not happen again.
Under my leadership, we will restore fair, equal, and impartial justice under the constitutional rule of law. (Applause.)

President Trump is not merely a liar.
President Trump is a convicted felon, and
has perjured his oath of office, his Constitutional obligation enumerated in Article 1, Section 1 - 7.

Free speech, our First Amendment freedoms of speech and press are in catastrophic jeopardy.

BREAKING: Jon Stewart just SHREDDED ABC and Disney for cowardly bending to Trump's threats and taking Jimmy Kimmel off the air in a BLISTERING monologue for the ages. Stewart did NOT hold back!

In the 20-minute monologue, Stewart brilliantly exposed Trump’s obsession with silencing critics and mocked the pathetic executives who bent the knee by taking Jimmy Kimmel off the air.

Stewart launched his monologue with a clip of Trump, who, bragging from overseas, smirked: “Jimmy Kimmel was fired because he had bad ratings more than anything else. And he said a horrible thing about a great gentleman known as Charlie Kirk. Jimmy Kimmel is not a talented person. He had very bad ratings and they should have fired him a long time ago.”

Stewart SHREDDED that excuse: “This is how free speech works in America, folks. There’s a completely scientific instrument — a talentometer — that sits on the president’s desk.

And when a performer’s ‘talent quotient,’ measured mostly by how nice they are to the president, drops too low, the FCC is notified. Threats are made. Mergers are blocked. And poof — critics disappear. It’s basic science. Read your Constitution.”

Then Stewart turned the blade on Trump’s hypocrisy. He rolled clip after clip of Trump whining that Democrats can’t call Republicans “fascists” or “enemies of the state.” Stewart pounced: “Those are the rules, right? You can’t say fascist, you can’t say enemy of the state, you can’t say less than human.” Then he cut to Trump in his own words: “The Democrats, they’re fascists. Joe Biden, he’s an enemy of the state. Nancy Pelosi? She’s an animal. Of course, I think she’s an animal too.” Stewart smirked: “Technically correct. She’s not a mineral.” The hypocrisy was laid bare.

But the moment that landed like a gut punch was when Stewart ....

For the record, Kimmel's comments were aimed at the suspect accused of killing Kirk and were not about Kirk at all.

And you'll notice that even this says that the FCC would "consider" taking action against the network.
