President Donald J. Trump's presidential style is a substantial departure from the conventions established by nearly 250 years of U.S. history. The white house East wing for example has been demolished without formal congressional approval. Is this what Justice Thomas has warned U.S. about ?

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on Wednesday delivered a televised broadside against progressivism, a political philosophy he described as an existential threat to America and the principles that founded it 250 years ago.
“Progressivism seeks to replace the basic premises of the Declaration of Independence and hence our form of government,” Thomas said in a speech at the University of Texas Austin Law School pegged to the nation’s upcoming milestone birthday.

Is Justice Thomas warning US about the Trump assault on the United States Constitution, such as Trump's challenge to our tradition of birthright citizenship? Such warning would be well founded.

ABC's Dwyer continues:
The 77-year-old justice was appointed by Republican President George H.W. Bush in 1991 and is one of the longest-serving justices in history. He is a staunch conservative and has been a reliable vote in favor of the Trump administration's positions in cases.

- oh -

So Justice Thomas' warning, steady increments of change are a threat, but Trump's slash-&-burn style of governance is worth unwavering judicial support. hmmm
Thank you for sounding the alarm Justice Thomas.

For centuries securing the Constitutional rights of dark-skinned Americans was left to light-skinned Americans, and the rights of the dark-skinned languished.
Integrating dark-skinned Americans into the process has coincided with substantial progress in promoting enumerated 14th Amendment equal protection of the laws for a broader spectrum of skin hues.
This historic lesson demonstrates population subgroups can be their own most effective advocates.
This is a good time to remind everyone that the majority of Republicans believe that colleges and universities are bad for America.

Currently, 58% of Republicans say colleges and universities have a negative effect on the way things are going in the country. www.pewresearch.org #2

As it is for skin color, so it is with ignorance?
If dark-skinned Americans are more effective advocates for dark-skinned Americans, is it any wonder that
ignorant Americans, in this case Republicans, would be their own champions of ignorance ?

Leave it to Republicans to assiduously evade enlightenment, not only for themselves but against the institutions that promote it.
Understandable.
The Republican political agenda would not likely otherwise endure.
