Quotable Quotes

"This generation, my generation, I hate to say it, Gen Z and those younger than me have been raised with just silver spoons in their mouths." ~ White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt

Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, described his recent wedding to Taylor Swift as "the best night" of his life.

- fine -
No body believes you Kelce.

"The U.S.A. has total control over the Strait of Hormuz. I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT! Our Naval Blockade is being called, by everyone, 'A WALL OF STEEL,' and there is nothing Iran can do about it... Their country is 'shot.' All they have is FAKE NEWS and 300% INFLATION..." ~ Trump post

"... the Strait of Hormuz. I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT!" #2,183
I sense Trump couldn't pass a high school civics test.

Trump seems to be Midas touched in the head, suffering the delusion that ownership is better.
Our U.S. senior military commanders understand why U.S. keeping the Hormuz Strait would be a net negative.
'Splainin' it to Trump, a will-o'-the-wisp.

Which shows how Trump has no understanding at all of what a republic is.
Not only should the US be defending individual rights and be against things like murdering the Ayatollah and his wife, but if the Straits of Hormuz were ours, we legally would be obligated to defend the individual rights of all using the Persian Gulf.

Who is Natalie Harp?

Harp’s relationship with Trump dates back to 2019. A California native who earned an MBA from Liberty University in 2015, she attracted national attention after appearing on Fox & Friends and telling the story of her battle with Stage 2 bone cancer.

Harp credited Trump with saving her life through the federal Right to Try Act, which he signed in 2018 to expand access to certain experimental treatments for seriously ill patients. Trump subsequently invited her onstage at the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference, and she became a prominent supporter, later speaking at the 2020 Republican National Convention.

There is an important qualification to that story. Medical experts have disputed whether Right to Try was actually responsible for Harp receiving her treatment. Harp described receiving an FDA-approved immunotherapy drug for an off-label use, something doctors could already do before the legislation was enacted. The Washington Post also reported that Harp had discussed receiving treatment before Trump signed the federal law.

If we were applying the principles of a republic, then we would be defending the rights of all people, including Venezuelans and Iranians.
If one allows racism or nationalism to create a bias instead of equality, then we are pushing a dictatorship instead of a republic.

Trump campaigned on "America First".
This evidently appeals strongly to feebleminded voters.
What they are beginning to learn is what most of the rest of us already knew. Karma. You reap what you sow.
By treating the rest of the world with belligerent hostility, including threatening to attack and conquer our allies,
we not only destabilize civilization. We forfeit reputation for being a stabilizing "adult in the room" presence.

The destruction Trump has strewn across the globe is vastly more extensive than razing the white house East wing.
But Trump's less tangible destructions may be equally permanent, bedeviling the People long after Trump will have expired.

True - Trump has proven that America's word is only good until the next election (if that long). And that reputational damage will take decades to repair (if it ever can be).

To thine own self be true’ Polonius, Shakespeare’s, Hamlet

Constitution of the United States of America
ARTICLE #14: Ratified July 9, 1868
SECTION 3. No person shall ... hold any office, civil or military, under the United States ... who, having previously taken an oath ... as an officer of the United States ... to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. ..."
"... that reputational damage will take decades to repair (if it ever can be)." S2 2,197
If the United States of America is not willing even to enforce its own law to protect itself,
then its presence in the solar system barely rises to the level of an inconvenience.

Trump's "America First" policy is fast converting the United States to a shunned also-ran.
