I was wondering how we should have handled Vietnam, and it seems to me we caused it by bringing the French back after WWII.
Ho Chi Minh lived in the US for a decade, trying to get US help to free Vietnam from the French, so he only went to the Chinese out of desperation after we rejected him.

Trump is a swindler, a compulsive liar with an incurable Munchausen-scale delusions.

For all his flaws, Trump is a master of publicity. Some estimates approximate Trump obtained about a $Billion $Dollars worth of free publicity by timing his stunning, appalling assertions to the 24 hour news cycle.

Trump's ignorance of politics is profound, and evidently invincible. BUT !

For all his flaws, he is president of the United States of America

Those that choose to ignore this, or perhaps worse, disbelieve it, leverage enormous advantage to their political adversary.
