It's a two-sided coin.
Certainly there's room for alarm. During Lincoln's tenure the white house had no perimeter security.
The tinge of encouragement is, Trump's lapses into questionable coherency seem to be increasing in frequency.
"The fences are back up." #1,877 at least suggests Trump is aware of public sentiment.
