The applicable "law" is "supply & demand".
If the used car market is over-priced, the new car market benefits.
When a used car model resale value plummets, so does the investment value of the same model new.

I don't recall mirrored vid of U.S. liquor stores w/ similar empty shelf space where Canadian brands were formerly displayed.
