How Donald Trump Just Became America’s Biggest Traitor
Political Guru David Rothkopf Vic Verbalaitis, The Daily Beast Podcast Mon, October 12, 2026 at 7:09 PM GMT-5
President Donald Trump's latest foreign policy maneuver amounts to a betrayal of the United States, political analyst David Rothkopf charged
Appearing on The Daily Beast Podcast, the political expert denounced the 80-year-old president's decision to buy millions of barrels of oil from Russia to fix the diesel dilemma he sparked with his own war with Iran.
Host Joanna Coles asked Rothkopf what strategy there could possibly be behind Trump's call for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to step down while simultaneously easing sanctions on Russia. He said there wasn't one.

Isn't the more immediate issue implementing the 25th Amendment?
Can a persuasive argument be made that Trump is mentally competent?

ARTICLE #25: Ratified February 10, 1967

SECTION 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress. ...

Trump allies pushing for martial law if he loses midterms

Republicans claim military rule should be imposed if Democrats win to check if election was ‘rigged’
Natasha Leake US Reporter
Maga community believe troops may be needed as voter fraud could take place in the November elections

Maga allies of Donald Trump have said the president should use martial law if the Republicans lose the midterm elections.

Participants in the Precinct Project & Election Integrity video call on Sept 30 streamed on Rumble claimed that voter fraud could take place in the November elections and that postal votes were particularly at risk.

The call is a regular feature of the Maga community, providing a platform for voices across the country, including Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist, and Tina Peters, a prominent Maga activist.

Peter Ticktin, a childhood friend of the US president and an attorney, claimed that voter addresses were being changed on mail-in ballots and were being used to commit election fraud on a massive scale and discount votes. There is no evidence of this.

He said, should the Democrats win, martial law should be imposed to check whether the election was "rigged".

"Listen, I completely understand why people are having such a hard time deciding who to vote for in the Midterms.
On one hand, you have Democrats who have disappointed you, and on the other hand you have Child-Raping Murderers Running Concentration Camps With Our Tax Dollars Draining the US Treasury Directly Into Their Offshore Bank Accounts While Making The Planet Uninhabitable for Human Life.
That's a tough call man. A real Sophie's Choice." #30

Doesn't mean we're hoping to pay your room & board.

Think of it as a heads-up less than 3 weeks from a globally scrutinized election,
at a site that may get more notice than it seems.
There's more to our bandwidth than 3 posters.

"Still think both parties are the same??" S2 #32
If not a false dichotomy, similar.
Some may hope there's rescue from the political duopoly in 3rd party.
hmmm
In 1992 H. Ross Perot split the Republican vote, handing Arkansas Governor Clinton the white house, rendering President GHWB a single-term Republican president.
In Y2K Ralph Nader split the progressive vote, and with a SCOTUS nudge in the form of the Bush v. Gore ruling, giving U.S. the War on Iraq.

“...Reince Priebus, the Republican National Chairman today said that 300K jobs ... aught to be expected every month ... and just a historical perspective:
-during the 8 years of President Bush (younger) there were 2.1 million net jobs created in the United States. Of the 2.1 million, 1.8 million of them were in the public sector ... that means there were 300,000 jobs in the private sector in 8 months, in 8 years rather, net ...
more jobs have been created in the United States in the last 4 years than in Europe, Japan, all the industrialized modern world combined. ...
70 years since WWII. 36 years of Republican presidents, 34 years of Democratic presidents. In those 70 years, there were 36.7 million jobs created under Republican presidents ... a little over half the time. In 34 years there were 63.7 million created by Democrats. That's 29 million more. You know, perhaps it's an accident once, or twice or what. But I mean at some point the Democrats ought to be comfort in the fact that they have been better the economy and job creation than have been the opposition. ...
It's15 years since we've had 10 consecutive months of over 200,000 [job growth]. Just 15 years ago there was a fella from Arkansas ... there were more jobs created in Bill Clinton's 8 years than there were in Ronald Reagan's 8 years, and the 12 years of both Bush's combined. I mean 6 million more jobs created in those 8 years, ... policy does kick in, & is reflected in the results.” Mark Shields

sear note:
If the outcome of Novembers elections reflected Republican party performance over the past few years it would not merely be a Democrat landslide.
It would bury the Republican party in a mass grave so deep below the surface no one would ever be able to dig it out.
