With universal health care doctors no longer need that massive back office to process payments. Not only don't they have to deal with multiple insurance companies (each with their own accounting systems) they don't have to chase after patients for payment. They just send the bills directly to the universal insurer (and they don't have to argue with insurance company claims people as to what is and is not covered).

That's a substantial reduction in the doctor's overhead.

Agreed.
Universal healthcare or single payer is a viable option.

"Grant money for research is the opposite of the profit motive." R5 #180
Grant money for research is the opposite of the profit motive for the bureaucrats employed to administer such things. BUT
the recipient universities are the beneficiaries.
In simplified / illustrative math:
Without grants the University pays $100% of such university operation.
If grants comprise 25% of that budget, because money is fungible, the grant money liberates 25% for any other purpose:
- additional unrelated research
- tuition reduction
- scholarship supplementation
- whatever

"It is voluntary money invested in the hope of later voluntary benefits in return." R5 #180
And it was a prominent element of what had put the U.S. on top.

And now that President Trump has severely sabotaged this, the U.S. appears to be careening toward subordinate global status.

"That is why almost all research and development happens at universities, and private companies almost never achieve anything themselves.
Which should have us questioning why even bother with private companies?" R5 #180
It's a two-sided coin.

I'm not squeamish about $Billionaires rolling the dice. It's their money.

The problem of "$Billionaires rolling the dice" is that they concentrate on returns and don't at all care what harm they do.
Like the Moderna and Pfizer mRNA injections for covid, that they each made $60 billion apiece on, but was extremely harmful instead of good.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Says MAGA 'Was All a Lie' and Claims Trump Is Only Serving 'Big, Big Donors'

In a new interview, the former Republican congresswoman also suggested that Baby Boomers are the most "brainwashed generation"

  • During an interview with Kim Iverson, former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed the Trump administration, saying the Make America Great Again movement "was all a lie"
  • "People always think, ‘Oh, it’s his staff.’ They want to blame everyone around him. There may be a point where people have to come to grips with this is Donald Trump," she added.
  • Greene also criticized Fox News, accusing the outlet of spoon-feeding baby boomers propaganda on TV
Former Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene called out one-time ally President Donald Trump for abandoning the core promises behind his Make America Great Again campaign.
“MAGA is, I think, people are realizing, it was all a lie,” she told YouTube host Kim Iversen on Wednesday, Jan. 28. “It was a big lie for the people.”

And that's the reason it's standard to pasteurize milk. If "mom" #188 drank pasteurized milk instead of raw, her newborn might still be alive.

1. The act or process of heating a food, especially a beverage such as milk or beer, to a specific temperature for a specific period of time in order to kill microorganisms that could cause disease, spoilage, or undesired fermentation.
2. The act or process of destroying most microorganisms in certain foods, such as raw meat or fresh fruits and vegetables, by irradiating them with gamma rays or other radiation to prevent spoilage.

Pathogens.
And "pasteurization" neutralizes them.

Words used in connection with food, and food marketing have special legal meaning, including "Natural", "Organic", etc.
Producers know the marketing benefit of being able to make this claim, but such claim imposes requirements.

Some consumers may believe "all natural" is better. Potentially, perhaps.
Asbestos is all natural.

It can get complicated.
"Essential" nutrients are those the human body requires, will die without, including for example Iron. BUT !!
"Essential" oils are NOT required by the human body. "Essential oils" means the oil contains the essence of its source.

FDA won’t consider a new mRNA vaccine for flu despite the technology’s life-saving promise

The U.S.’s drug safety agency declined to review a next-gen flu vaccine that uses the same tech as the coronavirus shots
By Jackie Flynn Mogensen edited by Claire Cameron

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is refusing to consider a new mRNA flu vaccine made by Moderna, the company revealed in a statement on Tuesday.

The vaccine uses mRNA to inoculate the recipient—the same technology used in the Moderna and Pfizer coronavirus vaccines. The way these vaccines work is by delivering a copy of messenger RNA, which acts like a blueprint for cells to make proteins. In the vaccines’ case, the mRNA carries the instructions the body’s cells need to make a protein that can trigger an immune response to the targeted virus.

The FDA’s decision didn’t identify safety or efficacy concerns, according to Moderna. It was based on complaints about the studies Moderna conducted to assess the vaccine, the company said, citing a letter signed by Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) director Vinay Prasad.

“This was a clinical trial performed with the FDA’s blessing,” says Angie Rasmussen, a virologist at the University of Saskatchewan. “The top U.S. vaccine regulator should make decisions based on ....

I disagree with mRNA technology, and believe it can never possibly ever act as a vaccine in any way.
All it does is reprogram the ribosomes of a cell in order to get them to produce certain proteins.
In no way can that ever have any effect even remotely resembling a vaccine.

Proteins can NOT "trigger an immune response to the targeted virus".
The corona virus has a spike protein, but that is because our cells have ACE2 receptors that open when our exosomes insert a spike protein.
And the corona virus is just mimicking our exosome spike protein.
So you can not get the immune system to trigger on spike proteins without getting all our own exosomes attacked.

And we absolutely know for certain that the mRNA totally failed.
Not a single person was prevented from getting covid by the mRNA injections.
In fact, those who got the mRNA injections seem to have been prevented from having natural recovery immunity, and got covid than as many as 5 times.

You're stuck on the mRNA technology doesn't work kick.

If there is any validity to your claims you'd be able to provide links to any number of peer reviewed articles in medical and scientific journals that support you.

But before you do that, please tell us where you obtained your multiple PhD's in the relevant areas.

It does not take a PhD.
We all know how vaccines work.
You kill a virus with heat and then inject it into a patient's body so their immune system can remember it in bone marrow T-cells.
Not only does mRNA not have dead viruses, but tries to make our own cells grow spike proteins.
That is incredibly foolish because those cells effected then are killed by our immune system, causing all sort of collateral damage, ranging from amputations to death.
And spike proteins can't be used as a pathogen epitope because the same spike protein is used by our own exosomes.
And finally, there is the fact the mRNA injections simply failed to at all reduce infection of covid, so is a proven total failure.
And if you want articles as proof, try the ones by Dr. Malone who invented mRNA technology, and who says mRNA as a covid vaccine is ridiculous the way it was done.
The actual purpose of mRNA technology is to cure patients with protein deficiencies.
But if mRNA is used to created a vaccine, it is supposed to be used to modify cells to simulate a virus in lab vats, not human bodies.

If you have read the lies about Dr. Robert Malone, then here is FactCheck showing he applied for and was granted the patent for mRNA vaccines.
{...
Robert Malone is named on nine of the important mRNA vaccine patents; his webpage contains his Curriculum Vitae listing the patents for which he is named:
https://www.rwmalonemd.com/general-4
https://assignment.uspto.gov/patent/index.html#/patent/search/resultAbstract?id=6110898&type=patNum
Here is the patent showing that he did indeed invent the very idea of an mRNA vaccine:
https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/patent/US-6710035-B2
Malone is actually one of the holders of a patent for mRNA vaccination technology. Here it is, applied for in 1995, granted in 2005:

Apparently car emissions reduce global warming methane emissions.
{...
Methane is a greenhouse gas around 30 times more potent than carbon dioxide and has been increasing in concentration in the atmosphere since measurements began. However, in 2020 scientists were bemused by a sudden unexplained spike in atmospheric levels. With so many possible sources and sinks of this gas, untangling the origins of this anomaly has proven a complex task but researchers think they may now have solved the mystery.

The unprecedented spike in atmospheric methane in 2020 was actually caused principally by reduced human emissions during the pandemic, which temporarily stopped the atmosphere from breaking down the gas, according to a new study.

Lower levels of nitrous oxides — which are released by combustion engines in cars, among other sources — weakened the atmosphere's natural cleanup capability. This, in turn, prompted a dramatic surge in methane as travel ground to a halt in early 2020, and returned to pre-pandemic levels in 2023 as society went back to normal.
