Just a little humor

Memorial Day

A small boy was staring at the names on the wall of an old church when the pastor noticed him.

"What are you looking at?" asked the clergyman.

"All those names. Who are they?" the boy asked.

The pastor nodded, and said, "They are the reason we have Memorial Day. They are those who died in the service."

The little boy considered the insight, then asked quietly, "The 9 o'clock service or the 11 o'clock?"

Don't say that little kid didn't warn you !

So last week I was abducted by aliens. They actually made me wash my hands, not use profanity, and eat weird vegetables. Turns out, I was on the mother ship.

Looking for a new career?

Some Japanese companies have a position unofficially dubbed 'the loud american'. Since talking back to your boss in Japan can be a big nono, even if the boss is doing something stupid business wise. So they have an american who's job it is to be loud about any issues to the boss, and since your not Japanese your disrespect is let slide.

Yet more evidence we're spiraling down into the abyss, & it's all Trump's fault.

They wouldn't have dared tell that joke when Grover Cleveland was in office. 🔇

No.

Earlier today we established Trump was worse than any other president, including runner-up R.M. Nixon.
Grover Cleveland's as likely to get a chuckle as any other president.

BUT:
First Lady Michelle Obama recently expressed somewhat charitable view of MAGA's,
not as bigots, but desperate.

So I bumped up the satire a little hoping the levity would join, - blame Trump for everything - .
Trump has earned unpresidented scorn, is clearly blame-worthy. But I'm a little skeptical Trump is the dominant factor in what I infer is new in Japanese companies.

Seagull splatters King Charles III during Northern Ireland visit

A seagull left a lasting impression Wednesday on King Charles III during his visit to Northern Ireland. The bird dropped a surprise from above, hitting the king's suit jacket and splattering others around him, including members of the press. “It’s well it didn’t land on my head,” the king quipped, according to Irene Marting, who witnessed the incident and met the composed king shortly afterward.

Trump's efforts to revive the U.S. coal industry falter, not for want of presidential determination, but absence of coal market viability.

Tennessee halts Tony Carruthers' execution after failing to find a vein for injection, attorney says

ByTRAVIS LOLLER / Thursday, May 21, 2026 1:20PM
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The planned execution of Tony Carruthers in Tennessee was called off Thursday after officials struggled to find a vein for more than an hour, a lawyer present said.
Maria DeLiberato, an attorney for Carruthers, said she saw him "wincing and groaning" while officials attempted to find a vein, calling it "horrible" to watch.
In a written statement, the Tennessee Department of Corrections said medical personnel had quickly established a primary IV line but were unable to find a suitable vein for a backup line as required by the state's execution protocol. Efforts to insert a central line also failed, and officials called off the execution.

At least he didn't die in vein?
