Song of the Witches: “Double, double toil and trouble”

By William Shakespeare (from Macbeth IV.i 10-19; 35-38)

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

Is that a mazel tov coctail?

If you'll pardon a layman's reflection on the history of cultural myths:
not only do such prominent myths occupy a niche in human history.
They also reflect a niche in the human psyche,

not too dissimilar to the Rorschach inkblot test.
Some think of it as "them", the there and then. BUT !
Is it not also "us", in the here and now? Very Christmas
