Quotable Quotes

"The White House considers anyone that uses the term 'Artificial Intelligence,' as opposed to the highly accepted new and more accurate term, 'Super Intelligence,' THE ENEMY!" ~ Trump

"This is the governor that when asked about his absolutist anti abortion stance, that even in the case of rape, the victim must carry that product of conception to term. He claimed that it would not be a problem going forward because there will be no rapists in Texas while he is governor. "Of these 64,565 rape-related pregnancies, an estimated 91% occurred in states with no rape exemption and 45% of those were in Texas." Good going Hot Wheels."

What is most ironic about AI is that since it has to be done by programmers, who are never experts in the field they are programming the AI for, AI will always be less than mediocre.

Drones have been militarized, imparting power of Davidian disproportion against Russia's Goliath.
As this techno-arms race careens toward confluence with A.I. ("super" intelligence) we stumble blindfolded toward an abyss of potentially cataclysmic peril.

Ike may not have anticipated precise detail about the adversities that are emerging here and now.
As Supreme Allied Commander in WWII, and then as POTUS, Eisenhower warned:

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

That is a huge danger.
Right now drone are remotely controlled. But that is easily disrupted and leads to detection.
So eventually they are going to preprogram them to be more autonomous.
Which then can lead to the whole "Terminator" Skynet threat.

At least until AI is advanced enough that it starts programming itself

That can never happen because computers have no sense of value, abstraction, cause and effect, physical properties, motivation, etc.
Its all just human programming.
Which is the actual danger really.
Something like Skynet disaster can happen if we enable AI beyond what we have installed overrides and protections for.
