There's nothing pretty about this.
Full details not yet public, BUT !!
The location of the entry wound is consistent with the shooter aiming a head-shot,
but right-hand trigger-jerk pulling the weapon off target.
Children should not play with guns.
Perhaps shot through glass, perhaps not."Drawing and pointing guns are illegal because accidental shootings then become much more likely.
What they do not mention is that the person who fired the shot in the police car was likely harmed even more, by the concussion in the confined space, the broken glass spray, etc." R5 #383
Perhaps shot through glass, perhaps not.
My reason for thinking not, the vid made public doesn't show glass doing as you suggest, suggesting to me the shooter's hand and gun were out an open window. BUT !!

Closure?"Oh yah, you are correct there was no broken glass.
Interesting how my imagination filled that in." R5

Last week, a 17-year-old child named Anthoneil Williams II called 911 while in distress. Austin Police arrived, and executed him in cold blood with a barrage of more than 20 rounds. Let’s Address Texas State Director Saadia Mirza covered this tragic story in detail. And as I painfully reflected over Anthoneil’s murder, I realized something. Citing “fear for their lives,” Uvalde police cowered for three hours while an armed terrorist mass murdered children. But now, citing “fear for their lives,” Austin police opened fire in 3 seconds to murder an unarmed child in distress holding a water bottle.
This begs questions.
Why is “I was scared” a magical get out of jail free card for cops?
