Cops behaving badly ...

California officer accidentally shot by colleague during 'horseplay'

Newly released video shows an officer being shot in the shoulder by a fellow cop during what police call "horseplay" inside a police parking garage.

June 11, 2026

There's nothing pretty about this.
Full details not yet public, BUT !!

The location of the entry wound is consistent with the shooter aiming a head-shot,
but right-hand trigger-jerk pulling the weapon off target.

Children should not play with guns.

Drawing and pointing guns are illegal because accidental shootings then become much more likely.
What they do not mention is that the person who fired the shot in the police car was likely harmed even more, by the concussion in the confined space, the broken glass spray, etc.

Perhaps shot through glass, perhaps not.
My reason for thinking not, the vid made public doesn't show glass doing as you suggest, suggesting to me the shooter's hand and gun were out an open window. BUT !!

There are POLICEMEN ! They're not fit to graduate high school !

Oh yah, you are correct there was no broken glass.
Interesting how my imagination filled that in.

For the record, applicants for police positions have been rejected because they were "too smart". There have been lawsuits over this and the courts have upheld the Department rulings.

A quick search suggest that the average IQ of police officers is about 104 (which would probably qualify them for cashier positions).

Thing is, most departments promote from within so it follows that the top brass are no smarter.

Here is a bit more of the details:

Senatobia police were at the Walmart to respond to a call about an alleged shoplifting and encountered two people with a child fleeing from the store into a vehicle, state investigators said after the shooting.

The officers “attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver drove in the direction of the officers, almost striking one,” investigators said. “An officer then discharged their weapon and the vehicle fled the scene. The subjects arrived at a local hospital where one juvenile child in the vehicle was pronounced deceased, and another subject had critical injuries.”

So apparently the police shot at the vehicle, which is illegal in my opinion.
Even if feeling threatened by a car, shooting the driver makes the car MORE of danger and not less.

Re #389 - some witnesses are disputing the police claim that the car was driving at them.

Anger Mounts in Senatobia Over Police Killing of 1-Year-Old Kohen Wiley

Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell says no video evidence will be released until after the investigation is complete.

The mother claims she held the baby up to show the officers there was a child with them - explains why they don't want to release any video.

Meanwhile the officer in question has been placed on administrative leave
