Quotable Quotes

"I should've won that award more than anybody that ever received the Nobel Peace Prize...I mean, think of the wars I settled. Eight. Wars that were going on for 30 years. Even if you look in the Congo, the Congo versus Rwanda, I settled it after 14 years and about 15 million people had their heads chopped off." ~ Trump

"I just want to say that there was tremendous love in that room...They said, 'Sir, we love you.' These are grown people saying that. Isn't that nice?" ~ Trump on G7 meeting

Thing is, I'm sure he believes it.

The other thing is, I'm sure I don't.

"Maggot Hagerman has covered me incorrectly for ten years. Her book is a joke! 90% of it is Fake News. She has made a living off her bad reporting...Maggot is a loser!...And her flunky associate...Don't buy their book, it's garbage!" ~ Trump, on NYT reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, co-authors of Regime Change, which sold over 300,000 copies in its first week

Thank you S2.
I knew of both books, couldn't remember the title of the 2nd.

Trump is sooooo crooked, he has a recognizable pattern for his falsehoods.
When Trump has a weak or nonexistent case, he rarely pretends to make one, & instead just insults it.

"Maggot Hagerman" name-calling.

"Her book is a joke!" "A joke", but of enough of a concern to comment on it?

"90% of it is Fake News." Thank you for endorsing the 10%.

" their book, it's garbage!" NYT Best Seller "garbage".

"We had transgender for everybody." ~ Trump, on the US at the beginning of his current term

"This is worse than any third-world country. There's no third-world country that has elections like we have." ~ Trump

DJ,
If election integrity is so high a priority for you, why did you mount a violent insurrection against our capitol to overturn the 2020 election result that rejected you?

"We control the House, Senate, White House, and Supreme Court, so I ask my Republican colleagues, why are you complaining about election fraud? We won all the elections!" ~ GOP Sen. Thomas Massie

"We control the House, Senate, White House, and Supreme Court, so I ask my Republican colleagues, why are you complaining about election fraud? We won all the elections!" ~ GOP Sen. Thomas Massie

Sen. Massie [R] asks this question superbly. BUT !
That is so because of what William James explained:

"A prudent question is one half of wisdom." William James

What Massie addresses here is not merely about electoral success, temporary partisan stewardship of government.
And not only merely elections, periodic opportunities for the electorate to reward or punish officials elected to public office.

Sen. Massie seems to be somewhat delicately acknowledging current Republican governance has gone far beyond standards practiced for centuries.
As of late September 2025, over 200,000 employees had left the federal workforce because of Trump’s actions, including about 55,000 that were fired. Now, Trump and Vought want to fire thousands more, targeting programs, projects, and activities that do not align with the President’s priorities. To do so, they are claiming authorities that go far beyond what is allowed in the Constitution or the law.
No statutory authority exists that allows or requires the President to conduct mass firings ...

Then and since, Trump has been purging both military and civilian facets of our government,
and it appears Trump has selects his appointees not on basis of competence to the appointed office, but instead
on basis of loyalty to Trump, rather than the Constitution.
"We control the House, Senate, White House, and Supreme Court, so I ask my Republican colleagues, why are you complaining about election fraud? We won all the elections!" ~ GOP Sen. Thomas Massie
Apparently Sen. Massie, the movement you recognize within the Republican party is intended to secure Republican party domination far beyond the next election.

Has the United States of America ever been in more severe danger?
