The war in Iran (or whose war is it anyways?)

"Spain actually said that we can't use their bases, and that's all right. We could use their base if we want. We could just fly in and use it. Nobody's going to tell us not to use it." ~ Trump

Think it through D.J.

CERTAINLY U.S. military aircraft pilots could request permission to land in Spain.
CERTAINLY Spain could deny such requests.
CERTAINLY our pilots could ignore Spanish ATC and land there anyway.

Then what?

The aircraft is likely to need fuel, and potentially much more, before it can return to the air.
If Spain refuses to provide, shall our aircrews switch to commando mode? Hijack the refueling vehicle?
And if that approach works once, does CIC Trump think Spain won't be smart enough to hide such service vehicles to prevent recurrence?

D.J.
You're a twit.

The U.S. dropped a Tomahawk missile on a children's school.
"This senseless tragedy removed 175 persons from a Iran's estimated population 86 million. :" s #16
It may not be the last word.
The latest word, target selection based on outdated information. Reportedly, in 2016 when the intelligence was obtained or verified, the building would have been regarded a legitimate target.

This loss of innocent life by the U.S. military has been called the worst in the new millennium.

"And it was a double tap - second strike a little later - an intentional action intended to kill survivors and rescuers. IIRC that's actually a war crime." S2 #24
❗

That obviously doesn't make it any less tragic.
It raises the:
"What did he know, and when did he know it" issues, that trace back to the "Tricky Dick" Nixon administration. https://www.historynewsnetwork.org/article/presidency-what-did-he-know-and-when-did-he-know-i

Or does it?
If a second strike was deliberately timed following the first, whether the U.S. knew it was a children's school or not, war crime indeed.

Would the U.S. actually deliberately double-tap?
No need for hypothetical speculation. The Trump administration has already admitted to doing this regarding alleged drug boats in reported international water.

"... actually a war crime." S2 #24
Will "justice" ever engage here?

BREAKING: Dementia Don babbles incoherently after reporters call him out to his face for trying to pretend that his illegal war in Iran is just an “excursion!”

During today’s visit to a packaging company in Ohio as part of his tour around the country trying to convince everyone that their eyes and wallets are lying to them about how much the cost of living is skyrocketing under his administration, the questioning from the media turned to Trump’s war in Iran.

In his remarks to the press, Trump declared that “we did a little excursion. A couple weeks, a few weeks of excursion, had to take an excursion, but it's doing well. The market is holding up well. I figured we would be hit a little bit, but we were hit less than I thought and we will be back on track in a pretty short while. Prices are coming down substantially, oil will be coming down.”

Reporters, of course, immediately press him on just what the hell that means, asking, “you just said it is a ‘little excursion,’ and you said it is a ‘war.’ Which is it?”

Caught in this obvious contradiction, the president decided to triple-down on the dementia gobbledygook:

“Well, it's both. It's both. It's an excursion that will keep us out of a war. And the war is going to be, I mean, for them it's a war. For us it's turned out to be easier than we thought.”

So, it’s a war, and an excursion, to keep us out of a war, but for Iran, it’s a war.

Got it.

The vehement insistence that “all is well!” from Trump, who pathologically lies about everything as often as possible, is all you need to hear to know that things are NOT going well.

Trump promises prices will come down soon, but his own Energy Department today announced that it wouldn’t be until mid-2027 for prices to return to normal…if the war ended tomorrow.

Satellite images reviewed by the New York Times shows US bases reduced to smouldering ruins across the Middle East, their powerful billion-dollar radars destroyed. 150 US servicemembers have been injured and eight have been killed. The Strait of Hormuz has been closed, oil and gas refining in the Middle

East has crashed to a halt, and missiles pour on Tel Aviv every night.

This war has been an abject disaster, and all Trump has to show for it is a younger Ayatollah and hundreds of dead Iranian children. We must never let him forget it.
