"You may kiss the bride." #823
It's déjà vu all over me !

When I was of public school age the passengers on my school bus belonged in one of two categories.

- Category #1:
The "in-crowd" kids, the ones in the know, the ones with the inside scoop, the ones with the skinny ...

- Category #2:
Me.

With superlative cerebral agility I grasp and embrace the concept of same-sex marriage. I don't even mind a charming young gal in a tux. - but -
I have a vague, undefined impression that I don't get #823. No worries. Wholly Acrimony is outside my repertoire.

Happy Pride ....
Thank you Pride.
NBC briefly mentioned what seems to be a wrap-up of a successful international pride celebration.

Personally I'd prefer a world where such blow-back was not necessary. Where we are all individuals and such categorization immaterial. BUT !!
I suspect more civil rights progress has been made in my lifetime than in the previous thousand years.

See you in the Promised Land Martin.

"... the photo is actually of a same sex couple." #825
Indeed.
BUT !!
The pics in #823 & #825 make me feel like a glass half-empty kind of guy. Why?

Perhaps I've been living in a fantasy world. I figure many if not most have swilled the gender Kool-aid, - black suit, white dress.
Fantasy though mine apparently is, I'd conjured the notion that at least within LGBTQ there was a micro-minority that shed the labels.

Either of the pics in #823 or #825 might not rain on my delusion. But it's both. It's unanimous, 100%.
Even among carpet-munchers the distinctions of male & female persist.

Perhaps it's mainly ceremonial, and once the wedding is over they can get down to simply being mutually supporting life partners, gender irrelevant. BUT !
However mistakenly, I perceive it as a shadow of gloom. As if there'll never be a Paradise without a serpent.

I'm not a -kill the messenger- type of guy.
But I infer from this that the next trillion years of human history will be pretty much like that since time began. -depressing-

happy pride

A beloved Catholic school teacher was fired after a parent found an old obituary… and discovered he was once married to a man.

This is Catholic "morality" in practice.

Far be it from me to deride barnyard. BUT !
Though I seem to be battling the tide, I still have optimism about the existence of genderless love. Not sure, I'm not a parent. But isn't a parent's love for their own child/ren genderless? I love you Suzy, but if you were Steve you'd have to sleep on a mat on the porch?

At my age, love is just one less thing to have to worry about.

Orbán lost to "gays and Ukrainians": How a Pride ban united Budapest against Hungary’s government

Tuesday, 1 July 2025 — Sergiy Sydorenko, European Pravda
Banner text: "I came out because of Gáspár". Many Hungarians believe that the prime minister’s son Gáspár Orbán is a gay
"Pride turned into a funeral march for Orbán’s regime." That was the headline of an editorial in HVG, one of Hungary’s key independent outlets, assessing last weekend’s events.

This assessment is somewhat simplistic. There is still no guarantee that Viktor Orbán and his Fidesz party will lose the elections. Nine months remain until the vote – a long time in politics. Moreover, no one knows what violations the "eternal prime minister" and his team might commit to hold onto power.

Fine.
It's considered courteous to address as sir, or m'am.
When we can't discern the sex, what then?

I'm all for avoiding the insults, the scuffles behind the dumpster, etc.
But for those most directly affected, rather than mere whining, why not provide a solution?

Worth noting, this can be particularly awkward on telephone.

SO !
Trans-issuists,
You want to be victims? Or you want to address it, and move on?

If you're in a public washroom and can't discern someone's gender don't worry about it - after all, it doesn't affect you.

Worth noting, this can be particularly awkward on telephone.

Not just on the phone - I've received business correspondence that requires a response and all I'm given is the first initial of the author - is "M. Smith" properly known as "Mary Smith" or is it "Michael"? I have had some people write "M. Smith" (Mrs) but as often as not because they don't want to be referred to as Miss or Ms.

You want to be victims? Or you want to address it, and move on?

In the case of this kid they just don't want to be beaten up. Or killed.
