Yesterday I stopped briefly to talk to my friend & neighbor Mr. HW.
Normally I'd see him a few times per month. But since the global COVID-19 pandemic I only see him a few times per year.
We're both retired. We both have a sense of what matters most.
So to recount the highlights since our previous meeting, I described to Mr. HW the microwave oven door game. Pandemic isolation affects some differently than others.

By momentum alone (hands off door & handle) swing the microwave oven door shut.
- Swing too hard, and the door shuts completely, the latch springs closed. Equivalent to a gutter-ball. Zero points.
- Swing not forcefully enough, and the microwave oven door will spring back. Swing & a miss. Zero points. Style points are rare, but not impossible.
- Swing the door precisely between these two extremes and the door swing stops short of latching closed, but is held slightly open by the latch. - bingo - That's the way to score in the microwave oven door game.

Thank goodness pandemic isolation hasn't affected me
much.
