Inaccuracies — including estimates of Russian troop deaths that are significantly lower than numbers publicly stated by U.S. officials — have led to questions about those documents’ authenticity. Second batch of documents later reported.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Defense Department is reviewing a handful of documents that were released on several social-media sites and appear to detail U.S. and NATO aid to Ukraine, but may have been altered or used as part of a misinformation campaign.

Deliberate disinformation? On whose order?

Thanks R1.
There does seem to be a scramble, trying to identify the source of the leak, and plug it.
The Pentagon is reportedly investigating. So is the U.S. D.O.J.
They're not the only ones.

Putin's domestic disinformation campaign might seem folly to those in the U.S., where our First Amendment lends a broader spectrum to our "news" feed, a spectrum extending beyond FOX to CNN.
Tucker Carlson spews his crowd pleasers. Those that correct Carlson's inaccuracies may not have ratings as strong as Carlson's. But they're still alive. Russian journalists that report Putin's errors often don't live long.

Most alarming, your reason for introducing the topic I suspect: Is President Biden exaggerating Russia's battlefield failures in Ukraine, in Biden's hope it will help his military aid to Ukraine? If so what does that tell us about the legitimacy, the urgency of that aid?

I suspect MTG fans may perceive themselves as patriots.

Despite the sensitive information contained in the documents, the suspect apparently did not intend to be a whistleblower — according to The New York Times, members of "Thug Shaker Central," the original Discord server, say the documents were never intended to be shared outside of their small group. Eventually, though, they were shared to other Discord servers before finding their way to Telegram channels, 4chan and other social media platforms.

Youthful ignorance?

R #1
As you know by now, they have a prime suspect. Seems like S2 #4 has nailed it. Teixeira might have been a bigger hit if he's simply bought his young cyber-audience some ice cream.

How many decades should such a traitor spend in the federal pen., for youthful stupidity?
