According to the UN Charter, the United States' military intervention in Venezuela is illegal. The use of force is permitted only with UN Security Council approval or in response to a direct armed attack on a member state.

Splendid.
So ?

Will United States President Trump simply be allowed to continue his international crime spree? Or will more rational minds intervene?

Who?
How?
When?

Will the U.S. be at War with NATO over Greenland before the end of January, 2026 ?

What US did to Maduro is not only in violation of the UN charter, but since Congress approved it, the UN charter also became US law as well.

The main problem with the UN is that all members of the Security Council have veto power.
No one should have veto power if you want the Rule of Law.

If I may add, nations have resources, and have demonstrated the ability to apply those resources to respond to crime great & small.

The U.S. can deploy FBI, National Guard, & other resources as needed.

What does the U.N. have? Blue hats?

The main thing the UN should be able to do is prosecute war crimes that violate the Geneva Conventions.
But it is Trumps economic sanctions on Venezuela that are war crimes, and the US ratified the Geneva Conventions into US law, so the FBI should be arresting Trump.

So much of the Trump maelstrom is composed of rare exceptions, and new or unique exceptions / precedents.

Trump being escorted to the rubber room may not be quite the fantasy we might believe.
