I didn't know.
It's not very intuitive. I started by clicking the envelope near the upper right. NOPE !
I clicked the avatar:
and selected the "Start conversation" option.
Part of the confusion is, it opens what looks like a new topic. BUT !!
I'm guessing it's a PM.
Not sure.
