Russia Targets An Empty German Consulate in Kiev - Latest Reports (Edit)

Except that he wasnt in Afghanistan and even if he had been there was no legal process to extradite him to the US. It is famously difficult to extradite any one from the US and if that person is a US citizen it is virtually impossible - what goes around comes around as they say. Pol Brennan...

A short journey into the debacle that is the current UK government

yes its a ridiculous system designed in such a way as to ensure that no party has power to bring in laws which would disadvantage supporters of any other party. Since it was first formed in 1998 it has been in suspension for a total of over 8 years and since 2017 has only functioned for 2 years

Russia Targets An Empty German Consulate in Kiev - Latest Reports (Edit)

At least Russia has a definable goal which if it is achieved means that they have "won". Whether the prize is worth the cost only they can know. US (and others) entered a war in Afghanistan with no definable goal, no line which once crossed meant victory and no exit policy for once they...

"Public" "Service"? Or manufacturing incentive for one of the worst evils on Earth to continue in October, 2022 ?? & into 2023 ??

I am fairly sure that much the same could be said of senior Russian military officers criticising Putin (at least as loudly as they dare)

Is the US facing a potential 'tripledemic' of flu, RSV and COVID-19?

The current and indeed the recent iterations of C19 seem to be more or less benign with a fairly low mortality rate (amongst the other wise healthy) so given that the vaccinations have been fairly hard on me, as things stand (the virus can and will mutate) I wont be taking another vaccination

Charging $1 is really just a case of wanting recognition for your work. i dont expect people to go unrewarded for their work, their work has a value and that value should be recognised But what some companies charge for patented goods is well beyond "reasonable reward"

    where is James Gordon Meek?

neither is any one else! When an aircraft is on the ground, the laws of that country apply. This applies both before and after a flight. These local laws take precedence over any laws that would apply based on the aircraft's country of residence, or nationality of passengers or crew. The laws...

A short journey into the debacle that is the current UK government

People like Fleming the man who invented/discovered penicillin and didnt patent it enabling it to be made cheaply recognising that its benefit to humanity was more important than his personal wealth? Or Banting, Collip and Best who sold the patent for insulin for $1 Salk didnt patent the...

    where is James Gordon Meek?

The Sky Marshals were formed to oppose a specific threat (hijacking) which was rampant during the late 60s early 70s as the threat faded the marshal service was down sized - as you point out its expensive particularly if there are no planes being hijacked. It was never the case that every...
