"Trump just made an incredibly ridiculous comment about Venezuela giving him oil," fb #3,104
Trump's manifold faults & failings may distract US from the fact Trump's world-view bears similarity
to the familiar Rorschach test, patients imparting subjective interpretations to abstract art.

There are multiple interpretations / explanations for #3,104.
The Ockham's Razor explanation?
Trump stated it as he perceives it.

Ironic that our president, unmistakably a Baron von Münchhausen-scale liar
has attracted this level of notice #3,104 for candor.

It is a DC cliché that a "gaffe" means to tell the truth.

And it's silly season again

Odd how Trump would so soon admit the motive for the illegal attacks on Venezuela?

I have no idea where to put this one

All I can say is that he has an intimate relationship with cheeseburgers

What is to hypocritical is that it is Israel that is most terrorist, with Menachem Begin blowing up the British peacekeepers in the King David Hotel.
The Palestinians are native liberation movement, so the most justified and least terrorist.

Barry Farber was a superlative New York radio personality in the 1960's. At least once Farber challenged his radio listeners to name any People ostensibly native to an area, that had not displaced a previous indigenous human population.
I can't pretend to duplicate Farber's encyclopedic command, but his assertion as I understood it was there is no present day exception.

It is a cliché injustice to punish the sons for the sins of the fathers.
How many previous generations are you willing to reference, before you deem a population legitimately native & entitled to call the area where they reside "homeland"?

Or do you believe such tenure does not accrue to successive generations?

My apology if this is the wrong thread ... cross-posted.

I totally disagree with Barry Farber.
There is no evidence of natural tribes "displacing" other tribes at all.
Displacing means either wiping them out of making them leave.
And native tribes almost never did either.
Instead they merged or split as they slowly moved away from the higher density areas.

The trade between Wester Hemisphere tribes shows they did not have the barriers that exist in hostile, over crowded places, like the Mideast.

And certainly no stigma is attacked to simply gaining land ownership through purchase.
For example, the Palestinians can trace back their land purchases for over 8000 years.
In contrast, the Israelis never paid for almost any land.

If you've seen the news abt the plane crash many are calling the pilot (who closed his eyes and abandoned his post) a hero while dumping on the young copilot who did her job to the very end

iirc radio traffic to ATC reported 10,000' per minute descent. That's less than 114 MPH by my math (worth a check?).

The shape of the impact crater provides clues about the angle of impact.
